I peeled off dry skin and there is a lump there now. Can lip filler cause extra inflammation when
Lip swelling
Apr 22, 2019
Thank you for your inquiry. It is possible to have some localized swelling that feels like a lump for a couple weeks after injections. I would try to leave the area alone and if the lump doesn't resolve within another week, let your injector know. They should be able to inject a little hyaluronidase to soften the lumpy area. Thanks again!
Voluma Uneven and Bumpy: Will it Improve?
Tender swelling after Voluma to cheeks
Apr 1, 2019
I am sorry you are dealing with this issue. Voluma is meant to be placed more deeply than the other HA fillers, so it will not typically be apparent where it starts and stops. That being said, this early on, you may be experiencing swelling that will resolve on it's own over the next few days. I find that filler can be tender to the touch and feel swollen to some patients for the first week or so, and typically like to allow two weeks before making adjustments or massaging the area. If you ...
How long does bruising and swelling last after using Voluma?
Bruising after Voluma
Apr 1, 2019
I am sorry you bruised. Unfortunately this is the most common side effect of any facial injection. Since you were treated in the upper cheek, I would suspect a deeper blood vessel may have been injured, leading to a settling of the bruise into the tear trough area. After 48 hours you might want to alternate heat and ice to speed clearance of the bruise. It should be improving within the week, and may take up to two weeks to clear. Topical Arnica cream may be helpful, and I would sleep...
Can I use ice to bring down the swelling around my eyes? How long till the swelling go down ?
Swelling around eyes from surgery
Mar 29, 2019
It's always best to check with your surgeon that performed the procedure but generally my patients will use a cold compress in the beginning and then by 6 to 14 days they are looking pretty good. Final results are best judged by month 12.
I encourage my patients to come back many times for follow up during the first year so we can track progress and answer questions etc...
Thank you for the questions!
Best Filler for Lip Augmentation
Lip Augmentation
Mar 29, 2019
Hyaluronic Acid fillers are excellent for use in the lip area to augment, while providing a natural look and a soft feel. I typically prefer juvederm ultra if I'm trying to build up volume in the lip area. Juvederm volbella is also a good choice, but I find this to give more of an understated look, with great structure to the lip. Thanks for your question.
