Would lower blepharoplasty be an option for me?
Lower blepharoplasty with fat repositioning
Mar 12, 2021
The goal of lower eyelid surgery would be to reduce your puffiness (=fat) and use this fat as permanent filler for the tear trough underneath. It would lead to a nice transition from cheek to lid.
Is a deep plane facelift a high SMAS face lift where the ligaments are released?
Deep plane facelift vs. High SMAS lift
Feb 24, 2020
You are asking a technical question which is commonly discussed at conferences among facelift experts. In essence, when the surgeon dissects beneath the SMAS layer s/he is able to release ligaments which in other facelift techniques limit the confluent repositioning of the facial tissues. Both, the deep plane and the high SMAS face lift procedures do this and are allow the surgeon to more effectively improve the overall facial contour. A high SMAS lift requires more surgical dissec...
Do I need more than just the standard chin implant to get a stronger chin?
Excellent Candidate for a Chin Implant
Feb 11, 2020

Recovery is usually about 6 days +/-.

A Browlift Can Get You There

I am 2 weeks post rhinoplasty and I don’t see a difference, I still have the bump —do I just need
No change after rhinoplasty
Aug 5, 2019
Sometimes, the area where your bump used to be can now be puffy. Although this is not routinely the case, I have seen this many times. Your surgeon's examination can determine what is swelling and what is remnant cartilage. As difficult as it may be for you at this point, time is your best friend as it will reveal the nose's contour.
3.5 months post-op. How would one know if their greater auricular nerve was cut/damaged during a f
Damage to Greater Auricular Nerve in Facelift Surgery
May 29, 2019
This nerve is certainly within the surgical field of a facelift. Your surgeon will have a good understanding if the nerve was injured during the procedure. The greater auricular nerve is commonly seen intra-op when it travels over the large muscle behind the ear (sterno-cleido-mastoid muscle). The nerve is protected by a thin fascia and it should be quite evident during the facelift procedure, if this layer has been entered inadvertently. Although your symptoms indicate a possible nerve inju...
I have a weak chin and jawline. Would implants make my features masculine and stronger?
Enhance chin and jawline
Apr 8, 2019
After evaluating your photographs, I would recommend chin enhancement with the help of an implant. Such a procedure will harmonize the jawline and make it more masculine. We perform chin implantation as an outpatient procedure under sedation - or local anesthesia if the patient prefers. These implants are meant to provide you with permanent improvements of chin and jaw.
Does nasal valve collapse mean my nose has collapsed?
Nasal Valve Collapse
Apr 8, 2019
This is a very common issue for patients. It may be due to trauma, surgery or simply weakness of the cartilages of your nose. Appropriate treatment usually involves rhinoplasty surgery: The support of the nose will be improved using grafts. These grafts are made out of your cartilage and fashioned into thin plates or strips to improve the function of your nose.
What is the recovery like for double-chin liposuction?
Neck Liposuction for Double Chin
Jan 11, 2019
I consider under chin liposuction a procedure of "small invasiveness". The surgery takes about 30 min to complete and we like to use a sedative for best patient comfort. Some of our patients prefer local anesthesia only. You will wear a bandage afterwards and you can expect modest amounts of swelling and some bruising. Most of our patients are able to re-enter life after 5 to 7 days. Healing will not be complete but appearance-wise, you should be presentable. The neck skin will feel numb ...
Am I a good candidate for a cheek lift?
Cheek lift for asymmetries
Jan 11, 2019
We all have asymmetries in our faces and you are describing some of your own. Your observation is certainly correct. In addition, one of your eyes is slightly higher than the other and that translates into some brow asymmetries, too. Jaw surgery will not correct the fact that your whole facial skeleton is slightly different from one side to the other but it may be right for you for bite adjustment. I would also not recommend a cheek lift as this will not help you much. Filling with in...
What is a "One-stitch Lift"?
One stitch lift? A 5-stitch lift is better :)
Jan 9, 2019
Honestly, I had to smile when I read your question. There is no facelift procedure that should rely on only one stitch. It sounds to me like a marketing pitch - not a solid facelift procedure that I would recommend. Excellence in facelift surgery does not come with speed. Rather, it relies on thorough understanding of the patient's aging pattern, facial anatomy and experience. Skillful facelift surgeon pride themselves on durable and beautiful results, not how few stitches they use or how f...
Suture (Stitch/Thread) Remaining After Surgery is Ok?
Stitches after Facelift
Jan 9, 2019
There are many different suture materials available for surgeons to use. The two main categories are permanent and absorbable sutures. In a facelift, stitches are used underneath the skin and to suture the incision. The threads deep to the skin should not be removed as they are meant to provide the deep tissue support. The sutures for the skin should go away relatively quickly. Sometimes they are removed, other times they are absorbed spontaneously - depending on the material used. Please di...
Bruising or Hematoma After Facelift?
This may be a hematoma
Jan 9, 2019
Although this one photo can not replace an in-person examination, I am concerned with a hematoma in your situation. Therefore, I hope that you can see your surgeon quickly for examination and appropriate management of your recovery. Hematoma formation is one of the most common complication after facelift with an incidence of 2-3%. If treated in a timely fashion, it usually does not cause lasting problems or aesthetic issues. In contrast, if one waits too long, skin loss, scaring, infection e...
How is a Face Lift Different Than a Mini-face Lift or Midface Lift?
Facelift nomenclature: Mini, Full, Midface Lifts
Jan 9, 2019
These terms can be confusing to patients and surgeons alike. In particular, one surgeon's mini lift is the others full facelift, and vice versa. In general, a mini facelift is usually a smaller facelift with possibly (but not necessarily) shorter incisions, a shorter recovery and shorter longevity. Many facelift experts feel that a mini lift is really a poor facelift, although it may be promoted as something great. A midface lift (a.k.a. superiosteal facelift) is a different surgical pro...
Feel Run Down After Surgery..
Tired feeling 9 days after facelift
Jan 9, 2019
You are describing an absolutely normal feeling. If you keep in mind that the recovery after your surgery has taken you out of your normal routine and represents a significant stress to your organism as a hole, you will know to give yourself time to gain inner and outer strength. I recommend to be patient with yourself and know that you will get there, but it may take as long as 3 weeks. It is already a good sign that you went out with friends at such a relatively early stage in your recovery.
