Can my short and upturned nose be revised?
Up-turned nose
Apr 8, 2021
Yes - I would consider a revision. The things you list can be improved. Hard to say exactly how without an in person consultation and especially examination. I would seek an expert on rhinoplasty/revision rhinoplasty in your area and possibly get two or three opinions. They can obtain your old records and review what occurred. Best wishes!
Looking for the best laser for wrinkles?
Laser for wrinkles
Apr 8, 2021
The short answer is that any number or even combination of lasers would work well. Skin treatments are a process in general and can (and should) be tailored based on your skin's response. My advice would be that the doctor matters most in optimizing your outcome. I would strongly recommend you make the trip to Madison, Wisconsin to see my good friend Dr. Ben Marcus, who is an expert in laser skin treatments. He is at the University of Wisconsin there. He is also, incidentally, a great...
is it possible to have a high SMAS facelift after undergoing a lateral SMASectomy facelift f
secondary facelift
Sep 3, 2020
The short answer is yes, it is. There are many surgeons who prefer a deeper plane lift for revisions. I tend to base that decision on the patient more than taking a "one size fits all" approach. I always think this type of discussion is best done in person where details applicable to your particular case can be discussed. I would highly recommend seeing an experienced surgeon located near you.
Do you think I should postpone my mini-lift due to weight loss?
Postpone or proceed?
Sep 3, 2020
Postpone most likely. Weight fluctuation of 10-20 pounds can change the outcome of your lift. Worse, weight fluctuation AFTER surgery can effect how long the lift is effective, possibly ruining the results. There is no hurry. I sometimes encourage my patients to consider the lift as the reward for reaching the goal weight they have set. You should be careful - at 5'6" a weight goal of 120 pounds seems aggressive. You don't want to gain back too much weight after the lift either as this can...
Where would scarring from an alar base reduction be and how severe?
Alar base reduction
Sep 3, 2020
Most of us use incisions placed inside the nose for flare and/or base reduction. Although scar issues are possible with any incision, in experienced hands the risk is minimal unless you have a tendency to scar. Event then there are ways to reduce the risk. You have a few options - you could always wait on that step and see how your nose looks without it. I frequently will do that and then reduce the flare and/or base in the office later under local anesthesia down the road if the patient and...
Tragus restoration: Is it possible to restore a tragus that is covered up with skin in a fac
tragus repair
Jul 27, 2020
Yes, it is reasonable to consider this as well as fix the pixie ear deformity. I am sorry that this happened to you! I would recommend seeing an experienced, board certified surgeon and maybe getting a couple of opinions before proceeding. This might relieve some of the stress caused by your previous bad experience. I wish you the best!
I don't like my cheeks and jawline. Should I do filler or plastic surgery?
Filler or plastic surgery?
Jul 27, 2020
There is no correct answer - there is a correct answer for you personally. I recommend starting with filler as it can be more easily tailored to what you want and you can see what you like before having something more permanent. There are pros and cons to everything, however, so I recommend you seek consultation with experienced, board certified physicians and hear an opinion that fits what you want to achieve. Seeing two or so physicians should give you some options. Best of luck!!!!
I got a blood transfusion 2 years ago. Does that affect me getting lip fillers today?
Blood transfusion
Jul 27, 2020
No it does not - blood transfusion should have no bearing on lip filler outcome or delivery. See a board-certified doctor and thorough review of your medical history as well as your specific aesthetic needs/goals will be reviewed.
Can the bone itself, near the hairline also be shaved (with a burr)?
Bone reduction
Dec 12, 2019
Yes the bone can be reduced. Skull thickness in that area varies considerably, so it is difficult to say how much it can be reduced. There are other ways of camouflaging things or achieving the result you desire. For example, moving the hairline may change your forehead look. I am not a fan of adding bone cement and shaping it. Results are less predictable in my hands and the cement itself can cause some late issues sometimes. Have to be careful with that. One way you could try various looks...
Can FaceTite be done if I have metal screws in my jaw?
FaceTite after orthognathic surgery
Dec 12, 2019
Yes it can be done. The plates and screws should be deeper than the level of treatment with FaceTite. It should not have any effect on either the hardware in your face or the final result. Best wishes and happy holidays!
How difficult would it be to have a rhinoplasty due to my thick skin /bulbous tip? What kind
Thick skin
Oct 23, 2019
I don't think you re a bad candidate for rhinoplasty. In fact, you are fairly typical. The best way to see what we could achieve for you would be to consider consultation with computer imaging to model your desired result and what we can achieve. In regards to the lips, I don't think lip filler alone would improve your facial symmetry. There are other filler options but mainly it looks like you are stronger on the right side of your face. This can be softened with neuromodulator (e.g. Botox,...
Getting more lid space through an endoscopic brow lift?
More lid space
Aug 8, 2019
Unfortunately, not a simple answer. Sometimes browlift helps and sometimes blepharoplasty (upper eyelid surgery) helps. You would have to be seen in order to really know. More  commonly, more eyelid "space" can be achieved by removing some of the fat in the upper eyelid. Again, very difficult to advise you without seeing you - best if you see an expert. Not sure where you are in Germany but I would see Holger Gassner there.
Open septorhinoplasty done 8 and a half months ago. I am now booked in for closed revision s
Closed revision
Jun 14, 2019
These questions are much better directed to your surgeon - you should discuss them with him or her! It is usually a short procedure. Recovery is about a week (maybe 2) depending on what is done. It shouldn't result in any breathing issues after the swelling goes down. Flying 3 weeks later should be fine.
Correct eyebrow and lower face asymmetry, less invasive options the better?
Facial asymmetry
Jun 5, 2019
There are lots of options. I would start with filler on the left lower face to contour and add volume to similate the other side. This is easier to touch up than surgery and can be tailored to your desired outcome. It is an in office procedure. Down side is the filler will go away with time. As far as the brows, improved symmetry can be achieved with filler and/or neuromodulator (e.g. Botox, Dysport, Xeomin). That is really less important as most people have asymmetric brows but if it...
Can I reduce my nose tip size without a silicone implant?
Nasal tip reduction
May 22, 2019
Yes it is. Tip surgery can be done alone without addressing the dorsum. Septal cartilage is readily available usually if you haven't had previous nasal surgery and can be used as a graft without silicone or ear cartilage. You likely need a graft as your skin looks thick. I would recommend you see an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon - I see you are in Florida. Ed Farrior in Tampa and Rick Davis in Miami are both excellent.
