Hole behind ear. How much scarring will I have from this?
Dehisced incision behind the ear--will it heal?
Mar 31, 2016
Sorry to hear about your situation. Your surgeon likely has your best interests at heart.  Once open and contaminated with normal skin bacteria, it is best to let this heal and close on it's own and then perform scar revision later, if necessary.
Seroma, edema on neck under my chin? What is this?
Problems with my neck after medical tourist facelift--help!
Mar 31, 2016
One of the downsides of medical tourism is lack of follow-up.  What you see could be due to excess skin, swelling, blood accumulation/scar, or residual banding, among others.  A good examination and review of your operative record is in order, if you can get that.  Find a local facial plastic surgeon who can examine you and help you determine what to do next, if anything is necessary.Good luck to you!
Why would my neck look like this after two surgeries?
Residual platysmal bands--what to do?
Mar 31, 2016
Looks like you might have residual plastysmal bands.  I cannot give much advice here as I was not present at your consultations or surgery.  However, you may want to seek a consultation with an experienced facial surgeon who might suggest a more aggressive approach (assuming this was not done) to address these issues.
Do my eyes continue to look droopy after the orbital decompression surgery and mid-face lift that I had do
Droopy lids (upper and lower)-what to do?
Mar 31, 2016
I would suggest you see an experienced oculoplastic surgeon, given that you may need revision surgery on your upper and or lower lids.
Swelling, Lumps and Indentations after Facelift/Neck Lift and Liposuction
Lumps/bumps after facelift in a difficult neck
Mar 31, 2016
Your neck looks like it was a challenging one, and your surgeon may have performed any of a number of procedures to correct the heaviness of your preoperative neck.  These lumps/bumps may be part of the normal healing process or evidence of that some intervention needs to be undertaken. I suggest you bring up your concerns with your surgeon.
What recovery time would I need after full facelift I'm a health care assistant?
What is the recovery for a facelift?
Mar 31, 2016
Thank you for your question.  Typically I tell my patients to expect to 'lay low' due to mild bruising and swelling for about 2-1/2 weeks.  This will vary.  About 5% will be ready by 10 days, and 5% will take over 3 weeks.  So, about 90% of folks are good to go 2-1/2 weeks later. With regards to physical recovery, other than some tightness of the neck, most patients feel pretty good after that first week.  I ask my patients to avoid heavy exercise or lifting for 3 weeks.Hope this helps...
Why does it appear I have lost all benefit to my lower facelift and necklift? I had my surgery ten months
My facelift results did not last...
Mar 31, 2016
Thank you for your question.  As a facial plastic surgeon and a facial rejuvenation specialist, I have seen patients from other surgeons with your complaint on many occasions.  I cannot comment on you directly as I have not examined you. What I can say is you did not appear to need a lot of correction in your preop photos, and I do see some changes in your postop photos.  Your selfie was taken with your neck pointed down, and of course you have extra skin in that situation.I think the best...
Facelift uneven bruising. Does this look normal to you?
Bruising on day 3--not the same on each side
Mar 31, 2016
Thank you for your question.  This is of course only answerable by your surgeon with an in-person exam, to make sure you do not have a blood accumulation (hematoma).Having said that, as a facial plastic surgeon and a facial rejuvenation specialist, and having done hundreds of lifts, it is normal to have some difference between the sides in the first week or two after surgery.  So this sounds pretty normal.Hope this helps.Best,Dr. Most
Nasolabial fillers or facelift at 32?
How to improve my nasolabial folds and 'droopy dog' look?
Mar 31, 2016
Dear geoangel6Thank you for your question.  As a facial plastic surgeon and rejuvenation specialist, I would have to evaluate you in person for true medical advice.  From your photos, you do look like you have an underdeveloped midface/cheek bone area, and augmentation here could help.  This can be done with fillers, fat or perhaps implants.  The latter is a good option in cases where a large amount of volume is required, as may be the case with you.An evaluation by a facial plastics...
Can I get a revision? What options do I have?
Do I need a revision--its only been 2 months since my lift
Mar 31, 2016
Dear Mytwosons-Sorry for your situation.  As a facial plastic surgeon and a facial rejuvenation specialist, I can tell you that in general, it is too early to judge your results.  You need to give it a few more months.  At that point, a conversation with your surgeon, including before/after photos, would be prudent.  Discuss how things look at that point and see if there are areas that need to be improved.  Right now it is too early to tell.Hope this helps.Best,Dr. Most
How much skin will be removed at Facelift?
Will a facelift remove my laugh line (how much skin is removed)?
Mar 31, 2016
The laugh line, or other facial lines, are not necessarily corrected with a facelift.  The amount of correction you can achieve will depend on evaluation by an experienced facial rejuvenation specialist. As a facial plastic surgeon and such a specialist, I typically evaluate bony structure, fat deposits, and areas of skin excess as well as vectors we will use in an individualized lifting process.  The amount of skin removed will depend on this evaluation and which approach you and your...
Facelift after bone being reduced
Bone reduction now a lift needed?
Mar 30, 2016
Hi-A reduction in the bony volume of the face can age you.  In fact, new studies have shown that this is indeed part of what happens as we age.  So, increasing volume and/or lifting may be in order.  A consultation with a facial plastic surgeon or specialist in the area will help determine what is right for you.Best,Dr. Most
Do I need a facelift?
Deep marionette lines at age 30--what to do?
Mar 30, 2016
Dear mamtha1986-As a facial plastic surgeon and rejuvenation specialist, I bet that you are too young for a lift.  As an amatuer photoggrapher, I see that the lighting you chose of course does accentuate your nasolabial folds and is less flattering than normal lighting would be.  Having said that, the areas of your concern do not warrant a lift yet--your best bet is still the injectable fillers.  It may be that in another 10 years you are a candidate for a lift, but you do not  appear to...
Sutures or staples behind the ear? Does it really matter?
Sutures or staples behind the ear--which is better?
Mar 30, 2016
Dear DinaTelli-The staples sound scary but actually are BETTER in the hair-bearing skin.  And importantly, they're easier to remove (less pain for you!).  The incisions directly behind the ear, in the non-scalp skin, are treated with traditional stitches.  If for some reason a patient really does not want the staples, we can always use regular sutures.
Am I right to be worried?
Asymmetry on Postop Day 8-time to worry?
Mar 30, 2016
Dear lucky70-It is impossible to give you medical advice on this forum, with only photos and no exam.  Generally speaking, it is normal to have some asymmetry (esp swelling) in the early postoperative period.  This is generally the first 1-3 weeks after surgery.  I think a consult with your surgeon will help allay any concerns you may have.Good luck to youDr. Most
