Should I take finasteride if I already have libido issues?
Finasteride is not the only medical option for men!
Dec 30, 2019
If you already suffer from ED or low libido and gynecomastia then finasteride may not be the best medical option for you. Another option would be either topical or oral minoxidil. Topical minoxidil comes as a 5% foam or solution for men over the counter. It is currently off-label treatment for hair loss but some can achieve more dramatic results taking it orally at doses of 1.25-5mg daily. This would not result in any sexual side effects and may even help lower blood pressure for those pati…
My wife is recently pregnant. I take minoxidil and finastride everyday. Is it harmful for her in a
Minoxidil and finasteride both safe if wife is pregnant
Apr 28, 2016
Although it is not safe for women to use minoxidil or finasteride during pregnancy, it is okay for men to do so. It is not safe for men to share their pills with women of childbearing potential however. Men also cannot donate blood while they are taking finasteride. Any theoretical transfer of minoxidil from a man to a pregnant woman would be minimal and unlikely to cause any problems for the baby.
I’m 42yrs old, been considering getting hair transplant but I’m indecisive between Fue or strip te
Deciding between strip and FUE
Oct 24, 2015
For most patients the main determinant is how long they wear their hair. It looks like you have at least 1 to 2 cm of length on your hair in which case it would nicely hide a fine linear scar that you may have from the strip surgery. The traditional donor ellipse (strip) is still the gold standard because it allows your hair surgeon to harvest the greatest number of hairs in the shortest amount of time from the most permanent donor zone with the least amount of trauma to the individual…
How many days after transplant are they safe from falling out due to scratching friction from hats
Grafts intact after 1 week
Oct 24, 2015
Most hair transplant surgeons allow their patients to return to normal activities after one week. Still you should defer to your doctor’s instructions. Do not pick or scratch at the grafted area. The grafted hairs enter a resting phase and shed anywhere from 2 to 8 weeks after the surgery. In a few cases the hairs will directly enter the growth phase. Most of all remember to be patient! It can take 6 to 18 months appreciate your full results, but it will be well worth it!

Combination therapy can be very effective
Jan 19, 2015
There is not very good data for saw palmetto although many men like to try it as a plant-based 5-alpha reductase inhibitor (which finasteride is as well). Most men who use finasteride do very well with between 80-90% success rates for nearly all ages of men. It is generally very well tolerated and there are no drug interactions. You can take it any time of day, with or without food, and no lab monitoring is required so long as you have a healthy liver. Reports of sexual dysfunction are…
Best NeoGraft doctors: What questions should I ask to find the right surgeon for this procedure?
Do your homework before getting Neograft
Nov 4, 2014
Neograft is a vacuum-assisted form of follicular unit extraction (FUE). This device is marketed to doctors as a way to increase their revenue without having to be in the room to do the procedure. Unfortunately many of these physicians have no experience in hair transplantation. They purchase the device and then delegate the surgery entirely to outside technicians (NOT physicians) who fly in for the day. Hair surgery is permanent, and should be planned and performed with care by a…
swelling after eyebrow transplant
Eyebrow swelling not uncommon
May 4, 2014
Depending on the type and quantity of anesthesia used, swelling can definitely occur. Your doctor may be able to prescribe some prednisone or other steroid to help. Gently icing the area (just don’t let the ice stick to the grafts!) may also help.
