Using an implant that has a base width similar to your breast’s base width is a good guide but not a hard and fast rule. I can remember the days when all we had was one profile (the lowest and widest). Because the size you are considering is less than a centimeter from your measurement I don’t think you should have any worries about not using a high profile implant. The most important factor about whether you will feel or see ripples is your own tissue. The thinner your tissue, the less camouflage of the implant. Each different implant will also play a role. Saline obviously has more ripple potential than silicone. Implants from different companies also have a different feel. Mentor has one option, Sientra two, and Allergan three. I agree that I personally prefer the feel of Sientra implants as well.

An in person evaluation well allow your provider to know if this is due to bone or soft tissue. If it is due to soft tissue you may see some softening of the area with Botox. Botox is a simple injection that can decrease muscle movement for around four months. Continuous usage can also decrease the size of the muscles. If the bulging is due to bone it may require a surgical procedure.

Dear Mis325,Implants can be deflated easily in the office as long as you have confirmation of the implant type. The deflated shell can sometimes be uncomfortable because of folds that can poking sensation. Taking the implant out under local in the office can also be fairly easy with minimal downtime and expense. It is not appropriate for every patient, but it may be another option for you.Best of luck,
