Doctors
The founder and medical director of Symmetry Clinic in London, Dr. Paun has expertise in a variety of facial plastic surgery procedures, but his primary specialty is cosmetic, reconstructive, and revision rhinoplasty. He is particularly well-known and loved by his patients for his skill and artistry in creating beautiful rhinoplasty surgery for patients of all ethnicities.
Dr. Paun earned his MBBS from the University of London before pursuing highly specialized fellowships. Dr Paun became a specialist on the GMC register in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery in the United Kingdom.
He then completed a prestigious fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery, during which he received advanced training at Amsterdam’s Academic Medical Clinic, Adamson Cosmetic Facial Surgery Clinic in Toronto, and Harvard’s prestigious Massachusetts Eye and Ear teaching hospital, respectively.
Throughout more than 20 years in practice, Dr. Paun has frequently been called upon to lend his expertise in rhinoplasty to the press, as well as to future and current physicians. He is an honorary lecturer at Queen Mary’s University, where he teaches students in addition to performing clinical research on aesthetic reconstruction and rhinoplasty.
He has also published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters on his specialty. Dr. Paun is a highly sought-after speaker and he travels as much as he can—both within the United Kingdom and internationally—to speak at surgical conferences and meetings, sharing his insight with other discerning rhinoplasty surgeons. Doctors from around the world travel to Dr. Paun’s clinic to observe his meticulous work and natural-looking results.
Within the NHS, Dr. Paun was the former head of department at St. Bartholomew’s and one of the United Kingdom’s largest and most distinguished teaching hospital trusts. He still works at these hospitals today, where he performs his most complex cases.
Because Dr. Paun undertakes complex revision rhinoplasties, he is referred to patients from other surgeons from the London area and across Britain.
Dr. Paun’s exceptional work has earned him multiple honors, including being named the best nose surgeon in the UK in Tatler’s 2018 cosmetic surgery guide and the esteemed Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
When not operating on patients or lecturing, Dr. Paun is an active member of several professional organizations, including the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (of which he was once treasurer). He is the first and current president of the European Board for Certification in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is also currently the Vice President of the International Board.

I don’t think there is a right or wrong in this question. It can be done either way although my preference is usually to do the rhinoplasty at the end. It reely depends what your own priorities are and whether the nose is bothering you enough to do it first. If you lose a lot of weight it can change the facial dimensions hence why I like to do the nose once everything else has settled so that the balance between the nose and the rest of the fact is harmonious.

The good news is that there is the potential to markedly improve the tip by elevating is upwards (rotating) and the securing it in the correct position. There are lots of ways to do this and it may involve attaching the tip onto a secure cartilage foundation to avoid it dropping again in the future. There is also a muscle going from the upper lip into the tip which can be divided to avoid the downward pull on the tip as you smile. This would in effect, lengthen the upper lip somewhat to…
