The aesthetic in a face is composed of all its parts put together. If you have an imbalance then it can be changed to improve the proportions in your aesthetic collage. Changing your weight can have an effect on the proportions just as surgically adding or removing fat. The difference is surgical sculpting can change the proportions in a more tailored way. I don’t recommend this until you are at a stable weight. I hope this helps.

I would not expect a red/pink fullness in the skin to be present at two months or at two weeks. This is something your operating surgeon can address. You need to stay in touch with your surgeon and follow up as scheduled and call to schedule sooner follow ups when conditions require. Good luck.

Definitely consult with your surgeon. If an implant was used , it would not be good to pierce the implant since it is usually in the vicinity of the anterior membranous septum.

Not easy to evaluate given the three pictures. I would like to look at the base view , from the floor up to see the shape of the nostrils to see if you can have the tip projection further out and at the same time draw in the nostril flare. if that can be done a low projection implant of synthetic or cartilage can be added to match the tip projection. With my transgender patients I look at the whole patient and how the best change in the nose would best feminize the patient…

Not to worry , two months is still early. look at your pictures at two to three weeks and see the difference. I’m sure you will do well, since there are no significant asymmetries at this time and will likely not be any big asymmetries in the future. Stay in touch with your surgeon so he can help you through your recovery.

One month is early in the recovery process. Keep a photo diary of your progress front 45 degree angle left /right , profile left right, base form the floor up to look at the nostrils and front view. Use the same distances from the camera and lighting conditions so comparisons are true. You are just a little off so likely you will be ok. Good luck

The radix will more than likely go down as further swelling goes away. Give it more time. The appearance of the off centered dorsum may improve as well. If your nose was crooked before and the cause of the crookedness was not addressed it may not improve much. Rib grafts can give more projection than what ear cartilage can give and even silicone prefabricated dorsal implants. Two months is too short of a time to make final conclusions on the effectiveness of the septoplasty. I would wait a minimum of 6 and up to 12 months. Steroid sprays can be helpful to reduce post surgical swelling especially if the inferior turbinates were operated on at the same time and the saline irrigations to reduce crusting that can lead to easily fixable obstruction by clearing out the “boogers”.

Yes I agree the position of the lateral wing if not divided is pushed back too far causing the retraction. How much time has elapsed can also help determine the chance for improvement. The question is what was done and can it be reversed. The surgeon who performed the surgery can help you with that. L shaped implants can do this as well as rotate the tip up especially one that is too large for the patients skin envelope.

Like many of the other doctors have said, it’s too early and being 6 days now it’s likely improved. There is a tightness that occurs and it can rotate the nose upwards and also lift the sidewall of the nose. That combined with swelling can lead to the line on the sidewall. Natural is always the ideal and that’s what I strive for in Asian Rhinoplasty as well as any aesthetic surgery.

Hello,You should not worry about nostril collapse after a hump reduction unless there is lower lateral cartilage destabilization in aggressive tip narrowing procedures. Internal nasal valve collapse is a real concern with large hump reduction, since this can cause the upper lateral cartilages to lose support and fall inwards.
