FUE transplant scars (2000 follicles after 18 months). Can this be repaired?
FUE scars
May 8, 2020
Unfortunately, the person who performed your FUE likely used to large a punch. The best option to camouflage this is SMP. You can have another procedure but look for a surgeon who is a member of the ISHRS and is hopefully ABHRS certified. They will give you the best options as how to proceed. Good luck.
6 months post-op: 4000 grafts. Still look bald, not happy. Will my head get more hair?
6 month post-op results.
Apr 20, 2017
At six months you do not have the complete result. The grafts are growing but have not reached their full maturity. You will see less scalp in the future but you will definitely still see some scalp. You may very well want to do a second procedure to add density. Also prevention is important for your non-transplanted hair. Good luck.
How Do I Look After 47 Days?
Hair growth at 47 days.
Apr 12, 2017
Your results are looking good. Typically grafts will start growing somewhere between 2 and 3 months. You are already experiencing some early growth. By 8 months you should have at least 90% of the result.
Approximately how many grafts would be needed to fill this area? Outlined in purple
Treatment of scar after SHA
Mar 20, 2017
Patients who have surgical hairline advancement will have a fine scar on the leading edge. It has only been 4-5 months since your surgery and the scar is minimal. You may experience more growth behind the scar in the next few months but not in or in front of the scar. You need a procedure of fine one hair grafts to create a natural hairline and conceal the scar. I would wait 5-6 months from your SHA to do this.
Rogaine foam after FUE hair transplant?
Rogaine after Hair Transplants.
Mar 16, 2017
Glad to hear your FUE procedure went well. You are two weeks out and can start Rogaine foam immediately. Rogaine will complement the Propecia you are taking and should help retain and strengthen your non transplanted hair. When you first start the Rogaine you may notice a slight increase in shedding. This is temporary and will resolve after a short time. Good luck!
[Fue hair transplant] Can I have hair transplant onto the area which still has hair?
Hair Transplant
Mar 16, 2017
The simple answer to your question is yes, you can place transplants into areas that still have hair. However before you decide to proceed you need to have a detailed consultation with an experienced hair transplant surgeon. I would caution you on lowering your hairline at 25. It is imperative that you consider not only you current loss but your possible loss in the future. There is a finite amount of donor hair and proper management of it is so important. Strongly…
If I restart taking Propecia after a 5-month gap, will it affect my transplanted hair? Will it cause
Restarting Propecia
Mar 16, 2017
Restarting Propecia will not cause any problems or shedding. In fact you should start to see less shedding of your non transplanted hair after a month or two. Your transplants are not affected. Also, look into Costco for your Propecia/finasteride. The cost is much lower there.
