How many grafts does the average patient need for a hair transplant?
Number of grafts
Sep 12, 2017
There is no average patient. Everyone has a different pattern of loss and a different perspective as to what area(s) they want to be addressed. So each person will want/need a different number grafts based on many different variables. You should schedule an in person consultation with an experienced hair loss doctor to get the best individualized treatment plan for your specific needs/expectations.

Hair Solutions

You would benefit greatly from a consultation with an experience hair loss doctor to inform you of how to best approach your hair loss and your goals of maintenance and restoration. The thinning you are experiencing in the crown would greatly benefit from medical therapy in regards to stabilizing the loss as well as potentially enhancing some new hair growth in that area. You should see an experienced doctor to inform you of all your treatment options including minoxidil, finasteride, low level light therapy and PRP.

Which HT doctor is right about the number of hairs/grafts that need to be transplanted?
Graft Number
Sep 5, 2017

My recommendation for the frontal zone, depending on presence or absence of existing native hair, is typically around 1600 grafts. So the higher number that you were quoted is not…
Even after 44 days of hair transplant surgery, my scalp feels numb. When will it regain sensation?
It just takes time
Aug 21, 2017
Numbness in the recipient area following a hair transplant is normal. Superficial nerves branches that innervate the skin can be injured during the recipient site making process. However, this injury is usually not permanent and those nerve endings will recover and once again provide sensation to the scalp. Recovery time is different for every person and can take 6 months to even a year for full sensation to return. Be patient! As always, if you have…
How can I regrow lost hair? I’m only 18
Evalutaion needed.
Feb 27, 2017
Hair loss can result from many different circumstances or conditions. The most common reason is genetic male pattern hair loss. However, other medical issues need to be considered and ruled out before deciding any treatment plan of action. You need to have an in-person evaluation by a hair restoration physician to properly determine the cause and appropriate treatment options, especially given your young age. If underlying medical issues are eliminated as a…
