How can hair transplant work if donor side is having too less hair?

There are some patients who do not have enough hair in the donor site for a hair transplant so unfortunately, they would not be a candidate for the procedure.
50/50 peroxide & water on hair transplant recipient area on day 5 for crusts. Did I doom my procedure?

I do not recommend using peroxide on healing tissue after having a hair transplant.  It is unlikely that you have caused damage.

If you are losing hair at 18, you should see a hair transplant specialist..At such a young age, you are most likely not a candidate for a transplant at this time. There are several treatments that can help the hair loss until you are able to receive hair restoration after your balding pattern has been established at a later age.

It is  normal to lose some of the implanted hair. The follicle will remain in the scalp. It usually takes at least 8 months before you can see results. Contact you physician with your concerns.
Can I get sun on the donor site a week post op?

I would suggest avoiding sun exposure to your scalp to prevent scarring and damage to the donor and recipient areas. A hat is a great way to protect your scalp and avoid  future damage from the sun.

There should be no problem in submerging your head  a month after surgery. The follicles are integrated into your scalp. I would suggest avoiding sun on the new grafts. It could damage them.

You should not expect to see any growth for 3-4 months. Your  final result can take between 8-12 months.
