This fantastic patient had an ear piercing in the past that resulted in a large, dumbbell-shaped keloid scar. This scar made him very self conscious and affected his confidence. He underwent excision 6 months ago and has healed beautifully.
Keloid scars grow larger than their original site of injury and can become quite prominent. Through a combination of steroid injections and excision, they can be effectively managed.
