Wearing N95 mask early after rhinoplasty
May 12, 2020
Hi, you have a really good question regarding use of N95 masks early after rhinoplasty. The N95 mas does need to have a tight seal around the face to work properly and it is tighter than other masks. I just wore it yesterday for 6 hours and the bridge of my nose and ears were tenders (even without surgery).Discuss with your surgeon. I imagine planning on taking 2 to 4 weeks off (depending on how you are healing) would be best to prevent discomfort and pain.  I do think after the first 2 ...

Skin improvement in the neck area
Aug 9, 2019
Hi, thank you for your question and photo.Skin resurfacing with either peels or laser can be very effective in the neck for fine texture and lines. If the problem is loose skin overall,  neck lift can redrape the skin and give you a better contour A profile view might help evaluate this area. Some patients choose to undergo both skin resurfacing and neck lift. Hope this helps!

Options after a facelift
Aug 9, 2019
Hi there, I am having a hard time evaluating with the limited photo. Do you think you could consider a photo that shows a little more of the face and the incisions? Photos from before surgery could also be helpful. I think you will get more useful information with a better evaluation, but I do understand wanting privacyHope this helps

Considering facial rejuvenation
Aug 9, 2019
Hi, thank you for sharing your photos and questions. From what I can see from the photos, it does seem like a neck lift would be a good idea. It is hard to tell from these photos much about your cheeks or lips. certainly cheek implants and fat transfer could be a good idea. I recommend a consult with a surgeon in person to look at different options.Hope this helps!
Can one get a rhinoplasty after getting nose fillers?
Can one get a rhinoplasty after getting nose fillers?
Aug 9, 2019
Great question! You most certainly can get a rhinoplasty after having had nasal fillers done. Many people in fact do this. I typically recommend dissolving the filler before the surgery if there is any still left. Hyaluronidase is the enzyme used to dissolve filler and it should be able to dissolve the filler. I do know  other surgeons prefer to remove the filler when they see it during surgery, so if there was any left it could still be removed.Hope this helps
Could I have a closed rhino or will a nose filler look good with my nose?
Filer versus rhinoplasty? how to decide
Aug 9, 2019
Hi, thank you for sharing your photos and question. In your case, I think you can consider both treatments filler to the nose or rhinoplasty. Let's talk about the advantages and disadvantages of each treatment. You can use filler in the bridge of the nose to augment the very top of the bridge of the nose which will camouflage the bump in the bone of the nose and make the profile look better. Filler can be done in the office so it is a quick procedure. It is a temporary solution and you can...
What are my options regarding rhinoplasty? Would my nose be a good applicant for this surgery?
Considering a rhinoplasty
Aug 9, 2019
Hi, thank you for sharing your photos and question. I agree with other rhinoplasty doctors who have responded. It is realistic for you to consider a rhinoplasty to reshape and refine your nose while maintaining an elegant profile. I believe your next step would be to schedule a consultation to discuss more specifically what the goals would be and what to expect for surgery. It is an exciting decision to make (even is slightly nerve wrecking!). Good luck
Where do you inject Botox for the “11 area”?
Botox injections for the “11’s”
Mar 18, 2019
Botox is a neuromodulator that selective targets muscles in the face to weaken them and as a result soften and minimize wrinkles.  The wrinkles we call the “11’s” are made by the contraction of the muscle that pulls the brows toward the center of the face called the corrugator. The injections to treat this area need to be directly into this muscle. We call this region the glabella. The corrugated muscle is much stronger than the muscle that causes the forehead lines, which is the frontalis...
Am I a good candidate for upper and lower bleph?
Eyelid rejuvenation: upper and lower blepharoplasty
Mar 18, 2019
Thank you for your photo and questions.     Based on the photo, it does seem like you could consider an upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty, possibly a lower eyelid laser procedure to resurface the skin.I recommend you schedule a consultation with a board certified surgeon to discuss your options. The exam in person gives important information to help you and the surgeon decide what treatment options to consider.Hope this helps! Good luck
If I want to have both a rhinoplasty and a lip lift, which procedure should be done first?
Rhinoplasty can be combined with a subnasal liplift
Mar 18, 2019
Hi, thank you for your question. In my experience you can safely combine the rhinoplasty with the lip lift. Even in cases where the rhinoplasty is being done with a small incision in the columella, it does seem safe to coming it with the incision for the lip lift that goes under the nose.  Hope this helps! Good luck
Why is one of my nostrils bigger than the other?
Nostril and sidewall asymmetry after rhinoplasty
Jan 15, 2019
Hi there, thank you for your photos and questions. It can be hard to give advice over the internet without a full exam in person. But having said that, it seems from your photos that the difference in the nostril and sidewall is subtle. You can certainly explore a revision rhinoplasty, but be open to listening to the advice of the surgeon during your consult. Understanding the probability of getting to the result you want and the risks of pursuing a revision are important parts of your...
Revision rhinoplasty for crooked large nose and possible a chin reduction?
Revision rhinoplasty and chin reduction
Jan 15, 2019
Hi, thank you for sharing your photos and question. The decision to undergo a revision rhinoplasty is very personal and is some ways more complex than a primary rhinoplasty. It you find yourself questioning if you can make further improvements, the first step is to schedule a consultation to explore your options. It can be hard to give you good advice over the internet. It is very important to examine the nose and discuss what type of result you have in mind. Having said that, looking at ...
Would a mini lift be a better option for sagging on one side of my face?
How to address marionette lines. Fillers versus Facelift
Nov 30, 2018
Hi there, thank you for your question. The marionette lines are lines that extend from the lips down to the jawline. Marionette lines form because of aging. As we age, we loose volume in the face and we progressively loose strength and elasticity in the skin and ligaments of the face. Ultimately this leads to folds and wrinkles. Marionette lines can be treated with either injectables (such as Juvaderm or Restylane) or with anti-aging surgery (such as a facelift). Injectable treatments are ...

How does overall health affect your considerations for rhinoplasty?
Sep 13, 2018
Hi there, your overall health does affect your candidacy for an elective procedure. The best thing is schedule a consultation and discuss your specific health with a doctor. With emphysema, the main concern will likely be if it is safe for your to tolerate general anesthesia for surgery. The severity of the emphysema will help determine if you are candidate. If you just found about a new medical condition, you probably want to make sure your are stable and controlled before you consider s...
What is a caudal septal extension graft?
What is a caudal septum extension graft ?
Sep 5, 2018
Hi there, good technical question about rhinoplasty. A caudal septal extension graft is a cartilage graft that attaches to the very front of the nasal septum (which we call the caudal part of the septum) to add additional length to the septum. It is commonly used to extend the septum to the area of the nasal tip to add support to the nasal tip and to be able to control the position in which the nasal tip heals over time. For example, a caudal septal extension graft can be used to make the...
