What can be done to improve my side profile?
What are you most conscious of?
Oct 20, 2020
It’s always important to remember that there is something called a ‘variation of normal’ and we are individual because of these, otherwise we would all look the same. It’s also easy to try and fit yourself into an image of perfection and that is often influenced by what we see in the media.

Ask yourself what part of your face you think you don’t like or what you feel most conscious of, or like to see more of. Discuss with a close and trusted friend. If you are covering the side of your face…

Forehead dent or furrowing
Oct 17, 2020
The furrowing on your forehead may be as a result of excessive muscular tension in the area. The action of several muscles around the glabella could be the cause as they become enlarged. As the midline area is devoid of muscle to varying degrees it may create a furrow as the edges of the enlarged muscle become defined. Botulinum Toxin injections are reversible and may help to reduce the furrowing and reduce muscle definition.
What rhinoplasty procedure would I need to fix my nose years after trauma? (pho
Post traumatic rhinoplasty
Sep 21, 2020
A post traumatic rhinoplasty could be done as a closed procedure, could address the hump in the nose, and straight out any significant bends. A septoplasty would address bends in the middle divider in your nose. Depending on your needs/goals, there are procedures that can correct this.
What procedures would make my profile more balanced and attractive?
Non-surgical rhinoplasty/chin implant VS. Surgical rhinoplasty/genioplasty
Sep 21, 2020
From the limited photo views you could undergo a non-surgical rhinoplasty with a small amount of filler, in the first instance to correct you nose. At a later date, or if you wanted that permanent, I would recommend a rhinoplasty. Chin implants could solve an underprojected. Should these need to be removed in the future however, it could lead to a droopy and sagging chin. A genioplasty is permanent and not have complications of an implant. Depending on the changes mentioned, you could have…

Rhinoplasty
Sep 21, 2020
The appearance of your nose may be in keeping with the natural variations and characteristics of different types of noses seen in different ethnic groups. The appearance is that of a south asian nose; characterised by dorsal hump, soft nasal cartilages and thicker skin. These lead to a ptotic or droopy nasal tip that shows more columella and nostrils from the side. The projection of the tips tends to be forwards and down rather than forwards and up. Caucasian noses have different…

Maintaining a thin skin following rhinoplasty
Sep 21, 2020
There are some cosmetic surgeons using retinoids such as low dose isotretinoin or topical Tretinoin, to manage this and oil skin after rhinoplasty. This drug has to be medical prescribed and has some very significant adverse effects including birth defects and psychiatric disorders. It is also used in acne treatment. It needs close medical supervision if used.
How do cartilage grafts integrate with the tissue in your nose?
Healing of cartilage grafts
Sep 21, 2020
Cartilage is a living tissue of semi-dormant cells embedded in a semi-ridge elastic cement. It will heal together with the body’s natural scar tissue and has some ability to reshape and regrow. There will be increased vascularity of this scar initially, but as a scar matures usually it becomes less vascular. Irradiated cartilage is not living but acts as a scaffold material which onto it grows living tissue. In some cartilage tissues, with time it becomes ridged and can even turn into bony l…
