Is 11 weeks post tummy tuck too soon to go to Disney world?

Assuming all goes well with your surgery (ie no complications) you should be fine to go to Disney world. There may be some rides that would be uncomfortable (is Space Mountain) but you can always skip the jerky rides. If you are at all concerned and this is a big family vacation, the safest thing to do would be to postpone surgery until your return. Have a great trip.

Breast reduction with local anesthesia?

Breast reduction is a significant surgery. I am not aware of anyone performing this under straight local anesthesia. Unfortunately, an epidural is not possible as it would affect your ability to breath. Surgery in an accredited facility with a board certified anesthesiologist is a very safe and well tolerated procedure. Best of luck.

Scar creams for breast reduction?

My favorite scar cream that I use for all of my patients is called BioCorneum. It has silicone, moisturizers, and sunblock. Scar Away is a good less expensive alternative. Make sure that whatever you choose has silicone. Vitamin E has never been shown to be beneficial. Best of luck.

How many times does a seroma need to be drained before it goes away?

Persistant seromas may require an indwelling drain to allow the tissue to heal together and prevent further fluid collection. The seroma may also represent damage to the salivary glands. I would have the fluid tested for saliva as this requires a different treatment protocol. Best of luck.

It is very common to have numbness of the cheeks and in front of the ears after a facelift. This can take many months to resolve but usually resolves completely. Do not stick needles into your face at this could cause bleeding or introduce infection. Check in with your PS to make sure the swelling is within normal limits for your timeframe. Best of luck.

While it is very common to undergo both a facelift with laser resurfacing at the same time, you are absolutely correct that the recovery will be a bit more difficult. The advantages are that you will only have ONE recovery, one downtime, one anesthesia and usually less overall money.

In my experience, results from a facelift should be long lasting (7-10 years). Often if only the skin is tightened without lifting the deeper structures of the face, the results will be much shorter. This is common with “mini facelifts”, office based facelifts, or procedures performed by non board certified plastic surgeons (dermatologists, dentists etc). Ask to see some long term results…I think this will help with your concerns.Best of luck

While it is hard to tell from a picture, it is possible that you have a developed a late seroma, which is a fluid collection under your skin. Often times this will need to be drained to get the fluid out. I would get back in to see your PS to determine if it is tissue swelling or free fluid. Good luck.

Congratulations on your recent surgery. I usually allow my patients to switch to lycra from velco compression at about 2 weeks but don’t start exercise for another several weeks. Check with your PS regarding their protocol, but it sounds like you are on the right track. Best of luck.

One the of the key signs of facial aging is loss of volume. You can clearly see this comparing infants to the elderly. As such, any process that causes the face to deflate, ie time, weight loss, or gravity, can increase the appearance of facial aging. That being the case, all of your weight loss will not come from your face and neck. If the weight loss does cause some laxity, the facelift can be revised to restore your appearance. Best of luck

I don’t think you will be able to find a board certified PS to perform your surgery for that price. The cost of the implants alone is more than half of that. Botox dropped my lower face. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Heaviness after botox injections is common as usually is fairly self limiting. I would be patient and see if the heaviness improves in a few weeks. Adding more botox can increase the risks of changing your appearance and will NOT help with the heaviness. In the worst case scenario, the botox will wear off and you can return to your original injector. Best of luck.

Vickie,You are very early in your post op healing. Be patient. Things will change considerably in the next 4-6 weeks…contour will improve, sensation will improve, things will smooth out. If you are concerned, make sure to have your PS look things over but time is on your side. Best of luck.

From your photos, it appears that you are seeing the border of your pectoralis muscle where it was released during the surgery. It is likely becoming more visible as your swelling improves. The overall shape and size of the breast will change in the first 6-8 weeks after surgery. Be patient overall, but check in with your PS for a more detailed exam and evaluation.Best of luck
