I’m interested in rhinoplasty for a pointy tip. Is softening the tip more risky than manipulating ot
Male Rhinoplasty To Soften A Pointy Tip
Oct 11, 2019
There are many different techniques that can be performed on the nose, both through an open/external approach or closed/endonasal approach to deproject and soften a pointy nasal tip.  It is most important to be seen an evaluated by a double board certified facial plastic surgeon who performs a lot of rhinoplasty.  At the consultation, the doctor should try to match your nose to some of their before and afters to show you the types of cases that he/she has performed that look like your si…
Is Dysport safe to inject in chin for Synkenisis?
Dysport to the chin/mentalis muscle
Aug 31, 2019
Dysport is safe to have injected into the chin or mentalis muscle for dimpling or the peau d’orange “orange peel” look to the chin.  It is an effective neuromodulator for this area.  The most important thing is that you seek out an injector with a strong knowledge of the facial anatomy that can effectively treat certain muscles affected by the synkinesis and leaving others functioning to pull.
What board certifications (Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery, etc.) should a doctor have that performs
Board Certification
Aug 31, 2019
All 3 of the specialties you named (plastic surgeons, facial plastic surgeons & oculoplastic surgeons) are qualified to perform an upper lid blepharoplasty.  Each of these sub-specialties has their own accrediting board which signifies that they are board certified in their specific area.  The are the ABPS, ABFPRS & ABOPRS respectively.  It is most important to talk to the doctor about their approach and see a lot of before and afters.  Hope that helps.
Can you have CoolSculpting if you are on statins?
CoolSculpting & Lipid Levels
Aug 25, 2019
Absolutely!  CoolSculpting does not affect triglyceride or lipid levels in the body.  There have been a number of studies done when CoolSculpting was in its infancy looking at blood levels of cholesterol and other lipids before and after CoolSculpting treatment.  The results of the studies showed that it is not affected by treatment.
Will Botox help my many fine lines that appear as soon as I move my eyebrows even a little?
Botox For Fine Forehead Wrinkles
Aug 25, 2019
Yes, Botox will help treat the fine rhytids/wrinkles in your forehead and also help to prevent those wrinkles from “etching in” and becoming more permanent.  You do need to be careful, however, because the forehead is the lifting muscle for you eyebrows.  Too much Botox in your forehead and/or too low of an injection of Botox on the forehead will cause your brows to drop or not be able to move.  I would suggest going in for a consultation and treatment with a board certified doctor.  Hop…
Based on these pictures am I a Botox jaw reduction candidate?
Masseter / Jaw Neuromodulator
Aug 25, 2019
It does appear from your photos that you have a bit of width to the lower part of your face, corresponding to the masseter muscle.  I think some Botox to masseters will help to slim things down in that region over time.  Additionally, if you grind your teeth at night or are a teeth clencher, some Botox to this area will most definitely help.  I suggest you go to see a trained doctor for evaluation and treatment of this area.
Will Dysport effect last less if I get laser resurfacing some 1.5 months after Botox injection?
It Is OK To Get RF Microneedling or Laser…Won’t Affect The Botox/Dysport Result
Jul 4, 2019
A RF microneedling or laser resurfacing will not affect the results or longevity of the Botox or Dysport at this point.  The neuromodulator products are working on the deeper muscles of the face and are not specifically working on the skin layers, which are targeted with the RF microneedles or lasers.  Feel free to ask your treating physician, but the 2 depths, layers and targets make it ok.
Swollen incisions after closed rhinoplasty. Is this normal healing? I want a second opinion
Looks Like Normal Incisional Swelling At 2 Weeks
Jul 4, 2019
As a surgeon who performs a lot of endonasal or closed rhinoplasty, this looks totally normal for 2 week healing.  You mentioned that it “doesn’t seem to improve with time”, but you are only 2 short weeks out from surgery…you must give the incisions more time to heal.  In endonasal rhinoplasty surgery, all of the suture/stitches are dissolvable.  In order for them to dissolve on their own, it incites a small inflammatory process to break down the sutures.  That is the cause of the red…
What would be the most similar filler in Restylane range to Juvederm Ultra 3?
Restylane Defyne is most similar to Juvederm Ultra 3
Jul 4, 2019
While Juvederm Ultra 3 is not available in the US, it is called Juvederm Ultra Plus here in the states.  All of the fillers are proprietary and act/perform differently, but of the Restylane product portfolio, Restylane Defyne would probably be closest because they are both about 8% crosslinked.  There are many other contributing factors, like the hyaluronic acid concentration of Juvederm Ultra Plus is 24mg/mL and it is 20mg/mL in Defyne.  I would suggest contacting a knowledgeable doctor to…
I’m immune to Botox – yes, I really am. Will Jeuveau work for me ?
I Would Suggest Trying Juveau
Jul 4, 2019
While Botox Cosmetic, Xeomin, Dysport and Jeuveau all have the same core neurotoxin molecule, 3 of the 4 products have different proteins surrounding the molecule and Xeomin doesn’t have any associated proteins and is just the core naked toxin molecule.  That being said, they are all antigenically different and you may have a better response to Jeuveau because your body may see it as “new” and respond better.
Can filler be injected under the masseter muscle?
Jawline Enhancement With Filler
Jul 4, 2019
You can inject filler through the masseter muscle and onto the angle of the mandible (jaw bone) or along it in order to provide volume or definition to this area.  This is the space that we use when we do mandibular angle implants or augmentation.  Fillers like Restylane Lyft, Voluma and Radiesse work well in this area.
What’s the best treatment for keloids that come from surgical scars?
Scarring post surgery
May 27, 2019
It actually looks like you have hypertrophic scars, instead of keloids, but the treatment isn’t much different.  To be honest, there are a number of things you can do to “improve” the look of those scars, but to “get rid of them” is another story.  I would suggest a silicone scar gel or silicone sheeting to improve the scars, intralesional steroid injections to help flatten them out, vascular lasers to take the redness out of the scars or even possible excision and re-suturing of the scars. …
How many syringes of juvederm will I need for my naturally thin lips?
Always good to start with 1 syringe
May 27, 2019
In my opinion, I always like to start with a bit of filler and then you can always add more, if needed.  Especially for the lips, I like to use a single syringe and you can add another in the future, if you feel like you need another.  The lips swell a good amount after injections and 2 syringes at once can lead to a lot of swelling.  Also, filler is definitely a better option for providing lip augmentation, fullness and pout vs. the Botox “lip flip”.
Under eye filler gone wrong? Help! Will it go back to normal?
Hyaluronidase to dissolve Restylane
May 27, 2019
If you are unhappy with the look of your undereye/tear trough filler, having it dissolved with hyaluronidase is the answer.  It should revert to the way it looked before the filler after a few days.  The good thing to know is that Restylane, in my opinion, is the best product to have injected in that location because it is actually the easiest filler to dissolve, if it needs to be.  Good luck.Hope that helps.
How long until Radiesse filler will dissolve in my chin? I really want a chin implant
Radiesse chin injections to chin implant

Radiesse is an excellent injectable filler for the jawline and chin because of the fact that it is strong and structural in nature.  In general, Radiesse lasts about 18 months and does build some volume over time with its stimulation of collagen.  I would discuss chin augmentation/implant with a board certified facial plastic surgeon around 9 months to 1 year after injections to see what it will ultimately look like prior to placing the real thing.  Old photos of your profile will also help…
