Our protocol for scar management involves tape strips only for the first week. For weeks 2-3, tape strips along with polysporin ointment applied on top of the tape twice daily, changing the paper tape strips as needed every few days. After 2-3 weeks, once the skin is completely sealed and without any scabbed areas, we then stop the tape strips and Polysporin and switch to Biocorneum scar gel applied twice a day for 6-12 weeks.Thank you.
