I have heard doctors say that 4 months is enough time to wait to have hair transplantation after a forehead reduction surgery. It is always better to know the final outcome of a surgery and the scar it produced before doing any corrective work in that same area. It would not hurt to wait another 6 months before planning a hair transplant following a forehead reduction surgery.

That is hard to say. Patients have had shedding when initially starting to take Finasteride. Patients who have been taking Finasteride for several months or longer and decide to taking the medication for one reason or another have also experienced some significant shedding. I agree that scalp advancement or hairline lowering procedures in young men is not a great idea in most cases . This is because it puts the patient in a position where they have a permanent low hairline that will not recede at all with aging and has a good chance of looking unnatural at some point. There may also be unsightly scars in area of hairline that even with transplantation may still be visible.
