Could I qualify for double jaw surgery for lower face?
Mandibular advancement for sure
Oct 25, 2023
Hello, your profile could definitely benefit from a mandibular advancement to give more projection to your lower third. We would need to see your bite and some more clinical imaging to see if you need any other movements done.
Face asymmetry – will they slowly become asymmetric again due to the torticolli
Most probably yes, but it can be avoided to an extent
Oct 18, 2023
We can surely symmetrize your jawbone, but all the issues related to soft tissues are harder to work with and would need an in-depth study to see what can be done.
You have to bear in mind that as long as the underlying cause of the assymetry (the torticolis) isn’t solved, this forces (the muscles pulling) will continue to act on you, so the possibility of relapse is important. Having said that, a continued treatment could be helpful in maitaining the results to an extent ( with fillers, or…
Is it possible to lower the chin by 7mm?
Yes, BUT
Oct 17, 2023
It is doable, but 7mm is A LOT in a face. Although every face is different and you’d probably benefit from a large descent, we tend to set the limit at 5 mm, altough it is impossible to say without seeing you in person or even in photo.
You should bear in mind that when doing big movements like that, it is necessary to assess soft tissues and airways and also that bigger movements have high risks of vascularization and are less stable.
If you have a very short face, you probably would rather…
Are there any cases where you can have an orthognathic surgery first before bra
Surgery First Protocol
Mar 3, 2020
Yes, there is the Surgery First technique, which consists in changing the classic sequence of treatment in orthognathic surgery (braces-orthognathic surgery-braces), and replacing it with orthognathic surgery- braces, that is, first, the bony bases are repositioned through surgery and then dental malposition is corrected, resulting in three great advantages:
The expected facial change occurs from the first moment of treatment. The cuts made in the bone, or…
Are there any ways I can regain feeling in my lower jaw after jaw surgery?
Try with electrostimulation
May 21, 2019
There’s not a great probability of recovery, given that your surgery was years ago, but you can try an electrostimulation treatment, it is known to have worked in cases similar to yours.
Can Lefort 1 improve a gummy smile and make the angle less steep?
Absolutely
May 8, 2019
Upper jaw surgery can impact the maxilla upwards and reduce the nose / lip distance and amount of exposed gum.
I love my smile but I can’t stand the distance between my nose and lips. Could
Yes, it works in most cases
May 8, 2019
Yes, upper jaw surgery can impact (raise) the jaw upwards and reduce the nose / lip distance and amount of exposed gum.
However, each case must be evaluated throroughly, because sometimes the cause of the aesthetic defect is not evident at first sight.
