After earning his Bachelor of Science in Physiological Sciences at the University of California at Los Angeles, Dr. Lopez earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Louisville where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He completed his residency at the University of Cincinnati Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

He then followed his passion for plastic surgery by completing a fellowship in facial plastic surgery and reconstructive surgery at the University of Illinois in Chicago, under the guidance of world-renowned surgeons Dr. Dean Torumi, Dr. Reagan Thomas, and Dr. Eugene Tardy.

Dr. Lopez came to San Antonio in 2004 after he was offered the position of chief of facial plastics at Wilford Hall Medical Center. The next year, he was deployed to Iraq, where he served as head and neck surgeon at Balad Air Base.

At Advanced Aesthetics Lopez Plastic Surgery, Dr. Lopez creates beautiful improvements using the latest advances in surgical techniques. He and his staff stay on the cutting edge of technology by offering the latest, most effective nonsurgical therapies available, including FaceTite minimally invasive face-lifts, Botox® injections, and CoolSculpting® noninvasive body contouring.

It is difficult to say weather you would benefit from a chin implant without seeing your profile. From the limited photos that you have shown it appears you have very pretty facial features. An in person exam with an experienced surgeon that does a lot of aesthetic facial surgery is what you would benefit most from. Best of Luck!!!

I am sorry that you are not pleased with your results and especially sorry that your surgeon is not being forthright with you. There are many surgeons that use permanent suture, so what you are feeling may be the sutures that were placed during your facelift. The only way to know for certain is to ask your surgeon what type of suture he/she used. If permanent suture was used, removing the sutures can be a straight forward in office procedure. It is difficult to give a definite answer because of the limited views that you show and there is not a good profile photo, but it appears that your chin has adequate projection. It does appear that you may have some increase submental adiposity ( fat under your chin) which may blunt your profile. If so, there are options such as Kybella or submental liposuction. The hard part is over. Now that the weight is off, a lower face/necklift would be fantastic to tighten up the laxity that has resulted from the weight loss.
