Age 18, female, am I a good candidate for a nose job or chin augmentation?
Yes! you are a great candidate for Rhinoplasty and/or chin augmentation.
Jul 31, 2022
I enclosed a link below of a quick graphic showing you some small improvements that are significant. Please see my videos at drmaasdotcom and feel free to call with questions. You of course have stated you are 18 and have posted these pictures as your images are protected by privacy laws and posting them, of course, is very generous and kind of you as so many people have similar conditions and feel “afraid or private”. It’s ok to feel that way and we honor their wishes, but the more peopl...
Congenital Deficiency of Alar Cartilage? How can I get this fixed?
Nasal tip weak support is more than just alar cartilage
Jun 27, 2022
It is great that you have taken the time to learn some anatomy however, this deformity is clearly more than just alar cartilage weakness. The ability to compress your entire tip suggests real deficiency in your nasal septum strength or even prescience (after surgery). At a minimum you will need a strong graft between the two Alar cartilages at the nasal tip and possible more. This is not difficult with an experienced facial plastic and Rhinoplasty surgeon. Ask the surgeon how many they done,...
How risky is a third rhinoplasty?
Nose.deformities that are excessive grafting can be safely corrected
Jun 27, 2022
You are correct in understanding that the more basal revision surgeries you undergo, the lower the predictability of outcome in general. However, (and without reviewing your records), over grafted noses or noses that are too large are much safer and more predictable then the over respected and under supported noses we more commonly see. Two pieces of advice. #1 find a facial plastic surgeon that has performed thousands of rhinoplasties and at a least 1/3 revisions. And #2 get more than one...
How many grafts do I need? Some say 1200, others say 2200
Lower hairline means more hair transplant grafts
Jun 26, 2022
With the photo shown and no ruler or way to measure the amount of surface area, it is not possible to give an accurate estimate. However, if your head is average size and you really want a hairline that appears this low (normally I use 9 cm from the glabella - in between eyebrows as a reference point in hairline restoration)…it does appear to be 2000 follicular unit grafts or more. 10-15 grafts per sq cm.
What would be the best option to remove visible piercing holes from my face?
Lip scar revision
Jun 26, 2022
Small excision of scars following lip lines (pursing lines) while assuring there is no lining tissue (mucosa) left trapped below the skin surface can be performed in office.
Will Botox help my upper lip to go down so my teeth are covered?
Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Jeaveau treat gummy smile
May 19, 2020
The short answer to your question is..yes! This treatment involves increasing doses of the BoNTA until the powerful effects of upper lip lifting musculature are diminished followed by maintenance
Can my nose be made slimmer?
You can definitely refine your nose
Dec 19, 2019
The title above says it all however, if you expectations are having the same thin skin pointed tip and high bridge as your cousin and the profile you found, that is an unlikely outcome. Tip refinement alone will not achieve your desired general goal either. For something close to your goal, you will need cartilage strut for the tip and dorsal (bridge) grafts to give you improvement in the middle part of your nose known as the middle vault. The choices for...
What is the best way to get rid of my chin dimple?
Don’t change a good thing. Leave your cleft chin
Nov 12, 2019
You have beautiful lips and a nice feminine proportionality. If you chin is not recessed, I would stay with the many attractive movie stars and celebrities that are famous for their cleft chin...I have over a dozen patients ask if I could create a cleft chin for them. Beauty is not being average
Should I get a sliding genioplasty?
A large anatomic chin implant and skin resurfacing will save time and money
Nov 12, 2019
The real answer is in your bite. If you teeth align normally (see a dentist), then you have microgenia and a large or possibly XL chin implant can do wonders for your chin and jawline also look into improving your skin quality - acne scarring in the same treatment setting. Usually this can be done with sedation and local anesthesia and an incision either through the gum line or under your chin
What surgery could achieve this or a similar result? I want to lift the outer eye skin
Pinch blepharoplasty is better option.
Jul 19, 2019
A reliable and simple option is a pinch Bleph ehh i would be more natural and a method that addresses your concerns.
Is my nose too short in length? Can it be made thinner from tip?
Absolutely your nose can be thinner
Jan 29, 2019
You have thick skin, a hanging infra tip lobule, a wide middle vault and wide alar base. Depending upon your requested nose shape from the surgeon and the anatomy you started with, this could be an acceptable result. Addressing the 4 characteristics listed above can provide a thinner, more sculpted nose. You need to see a Rhinoplasty expert which is 1000 or greater rhinoplasties and 20 years or more experience in actually doing rhinoplasty. Especially revision rhinoplasty.
FUE without shaving the transplant area?
Shaving not needed in recipient site. Donor site must be trimmed with this method of harvest
Jan 29, 2019
This is one of the chief drawbacks to FUE, which is only a technique for hair harvest NOT transplantation. If you do not want your head shaved and want to be back to work in a week, do an FUT strip harvest. FUT strip in recent studies has shown better hair graft quality which leads to higher take rates and when performed by experts, leaves less perceptible scars than the misleading advertising promoted by the machine manufacturers. These companies main sales strategies are to bring hair...
Will my nose bend back if I use my own rib cartilage?
Autologous cartilage graft rhinoplasty
Dec 12, 2018
While using the patient’s own rib cartilage is now commonly taught and quite expensive, there is no current data that shows any benefit over using banked rib cartilage in cases of rhinoplasty that actually need rib cartilage. In my recent experience, autologous rib cartilage is recommended too frequently, inconsistently implemented as a graft and over-charged to the patient with many cases paid as an out of pocket expense. There are far too many “oversized noses’ with bridg...
Follow-Up: What would be the best route to take to get my scarred eyebrow fixed?
Treating scars to eyebrows and brow
Dec 20, 2017
The best answer for your particular problem is to disquise the scar using Hair Transplant or grafts to this area. The loss of hair in this area is what is affecting most and bringing attention to the scar. I have produced some educational videos about this, but in general, often the follicular unit grafts are the only treatment needed.
Face lift or liposuction for face double chin?
There are a few options available
Sep 18, 2017
Liposuction to remove the fat under your chin would be an option to remove some of the fullness in the area, however the loose skin that would result from removing so much volume would likely result in an undesirable outcome. A neck lift, which would consist of liposuction to the remove the fat and fullness followed by a redraping of the skin on the neck would better contour the submental area and jawline, giving a more natural look. Additionally, the discussion of chin implant to accentuate...
