If possible, can I take out the 4 metal plates under my eye and over the ending of my eyebrow af
Yes and No
Oct 12, 2019
Often it is possible to remove the metal plates. Usually this is done only for infection, pain or plates becoming obvious under the skin.I doubt the plates are the cause for the eyelid differences.  I recommend to see an oculoplastic surgeon or facial plastic surgeon for evaluation.
I got smile line injections 1 wk ago. I still have bruising and lumps on the inside of my mouth
No to worry
Aug 18, 2018
For the most part this can certainly happen. Luckily you are in the early phase and it’s very likely that these will settle down. I have my patients massage the area and re-Evaluate at 2-3 week. If you had a HA product and there are persistent contour issues this can be dissolved at an appropriate interval
Can my lower eyelids be surgically corrected? 2 months post blepharoplasty.
Time will tell
Jul 28, 2018
Hi:Looking at your photos is never a replacement for an exam. However here is what I see:1. The incision is on the low side. While this is a variation is can lead to increased healing issues 2. Your lower lid is retracted from swellings and chemosis 3. Time, massage and use of prednisone eye drops may be helpful. 4. Ultimately time will tell and many of these symptoms can resolve with time 5. If they do not then make sure you approach revision surgery very carefully as you usually get one...
I had a neck lift in January this year should my neck look the same as it was before surgery? (P
Unfortunately no
Nov 18, 2017
I am so sorry you are in this predicament.  While your initial pictures so somewhat of a difficult neck to treat with moderate techniques such as a deep plane lift you should have a much better result than you do.  Typically these types of necks require treatment underneath the muscle as well as detachment of the facial ligaments and repositioning.  I would hope that your surgeon would offer you a touchup or revision.  However if they are not comfortable with these types of advance tec...
Can the nose appear to rotate upwards when the swelling dissipates following a primary rhinoplas
Time will tell
Nov 18, 2017
Thank you for your question.  In as I am sure you know from your comments it does take up to a year for the nose to heal completely.  That being said typically we see a bit of the tip dropping as healing goes on unless specific maneuvers have been done that rely on some contraction for rotation with healing such as a cephalic trim.  I think it is best to give it time but it may be possible that you will not see a tremendous amount of increased rotation.  Luckily if that is the case it can ...
13 weeks post op facelift complication question
Doing ok!
Nov 18, 2017
HiThanks for your question. I am glad that you have made a good recovery. You are correct that your surgeon has treated you in the textbook fashion. The small amount of contour irregularity is quite normal after what you have been through. I too like small amounts of kenalog injected in this area. I have also used Infra-red laser to help soften these area. Time alone will usually do it but these interventions can help speed the process.
Getting functional rhinoplasty. What aesthetic altercations I️ may benefit from? Should I️ also
Noting too major
Nov 12, 2017
Thanks for the question and interesting inquiry. Depending on where you live and who your provider is there may be limits on what aesthetic components can be done at the same time as the functional nasal surgery. Not knowing the operative plan for your functional aspects its hard to say what will be changing from that end.On a purely cosmetic basis your nose is very nice already. It could benefit from rebuilding the mid vault to make the brow-tip aesthetic lines more smooth.  A small dorsal ...
Jowls apparent after a full facelift, mini lift suggested?
More work needed
Nov 12, 2017
Thanks for your questions and the photos you posted.  I agree with some of the other physicians that your neck is really the most apparent thing in the photos. A mini lift will not do a whole lot for that that if the jowls are the main concern and a touchup procedure is being considered some additional tightening of the SMAS  could very well be helpful. If you want full correction I would recommend a Deep plane revision with full neck mobilization
I need a neck and facelift. I have had four consultations. I am more confused now then before I
welcome to plastic surgery
Nov 9, 2017
So as you can see from the various answers......there is no one way to do things. As a busy clinical and academic facial plastic surgeon I see many talks given (inl=cluing my own) that show very good results with a variety of methods. The best advice I have seen here so far is:1) Ask you surgeon to show you photos of patients like you. Have them show you what results are possible in their hands2) Be specific about what bothers you! A brow lift is not indicated if you have niobium's concern...
Why aren’t endoscopic midface lifts done more?
It is right for the right person
Nov 9, 2017
HiThanks for your question. I did quite a few of these from 2005 until 2012The results are good. Especially initially. I found that the mid face elevation did not last as long as I would like. In part this is because the malar ligament in=s not full released as it in a deep plane faceliftsThat being said - if the mid face needs to be lifted in isolation....this is still my go to procedure.
How bad can facelift scars look?
Scars should not be the issue
Oct 26, 2017
Modern facelift surgery keeps all the tension on the deeper structures of the face. This makes it so the skin should be under no tension. In this setting the incision lines heal very well. When this is combined with proper placement the scars should be almost impossible to see. We say that females can wear their hair up and men can have short haircuts within 6-8 weeks. On the other hand - when done wring the scars can be obvious. So please make sure to look at results from your surgeon and...
Is there a qualified facelift surgeon in Toronto?
Many options - some sure bets
Oct 26, 2017
While there are many surgeons in the Toronto area I can recommend Dr Jamil Asaria without reservation.
Do I have a deviated septum and should I get it repaired?
More than the septum
Jul 7, 2017
Thanks for your question. Nasal obstruction can be multi-factorial. The septum can play a role but so can the nasal valves and turbinates. A MRI can give some information but a consultation with an experienced nasal surgery is the proper next step. As mentioned you do appear to have a mild septum deviation from the scans but this is not sufficient for complete diagnosis. Your symptoms merit a proper exam.

Careful observation
Jul 7, 2017
I agree with many of the previous posts. In general (and standard surgery) the ears are not moved at all. That being said there can be several factors that could cause this:1) Swelling pushing the ear out2) a suture that could have been misplaced and is tugging on th earUnlike your back surgery it is very easy to reposition the ear (even in the clinic setting) so give things some time (3-4 weeks) to settle down and then make sure you and your PS are on the same page
Is it hard to fix alar retraction and hanging columella?
Revision Specialist
Jul 7, 2017
HiThanks for sharing your photos and concerns. Revision corrections are always a matter of degree. That is to say that improvement can almost always be achieved but absolute correction depends on what the primary surgeon left behind. In your case there is certainly room for improvement. This will likely require composite grafting and possible tongue in groove procedure. Make sure you see a revision specialist. Dr. Pietro Palma in Milan is outstanding
