Rhinoplasty with chin augmentation
Dec 6, 2016
Thank you for the question.  You are certainly not alone feeling self conscious about your profile.  This is without question the most common concern among patients considering rhinoplasty.  You could definitely benefit from rhinoplasty to de-project your nasal tip and reduce the height of the bridge, or dorsum.  In addition, a small anatomic chin implant may enhance your overall appearance by giving better balance to the lower third of your face.  While you are not that concerned about…

Ultherapy not a good choice
Jul 11, 2016
Ultherapy should not be performed over superficially lying facial nerve branches due to the risk of nerve injury from excessive heat created by the device.  Secondary facelift surgery in the hands of a skilled and experienced facial plastic surgeon will give you the desired outcome you are looking for with no significant increased risk of facial nerve injury, even in light of your past parotidectomy.  I have performed numerous facelifts in patients with your history with no injury to the fa…
What can be done with my nose?
Open Rhinoplasty for straightening nose and reducing size/dorsal hump
Apr 25, 2016
Open rhinoplasty will give you the best opportunity to achieve your desired results, specifically straightening as well as creating a more aesthetically appealing, feminine nasal contour.  Correcting a deviated septum concurrently will aid in improving any breathing difficulties as well as be integral to achieving a much straighter nose.  Consultation with an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon is key to reaching your ultimate goal.
What is the best way to improve a retracted columella? This would be a revision surgery.
Retracted columella not the real problem
Feb 9, 2016
Judging from the photos, it appears that your nose is slightly prominent both with respect to the dorsum as well as the tip. Also, the tip droops or is under-rotated, which gives the illusion that your columella is retracted. Finally, the base of the columella, as well as the tip, is deviated slightly to the right side indicating a minor dislocation of the base of your septum. The good news is that repositioning the caudal septum combined…

Nose piercing after rhinoplasty

As stated before, it’s best to consult the surgeon that performed the operation with questions such as these. He/she will be able to offer the best advice as they know your anatomy best!Mark Petroff, M.D., FACS
I want higher prominent cheekbones. Should I have cheekbone lift or cheekbone implants?
Cheek implants
Oct 6, 2015
Thank you for your question. There are a couple of options for adding volume to the cheek area. One option is Voluma injections. Voluma is the first FDA-approved injectable gel that instantly adds volume to the cheek area. The results are instant and can last up to two years. This result my be a little more subtle than you are interested in – however, I’ve seen some wonderful results in the patients I have treated in my practice. Surgically placed cheek implants…
Neck Liposuction or Neck Lift?
Neck liposuction or neck lift
Sep 14, 2015
The most likely cause of your double chin is excess fat, not sagging skin. In patients in their 20’s, this is effectively managed with sub mental liposuction. This relatively simple procedure requires 7-10 days to recover. Occasionally, a chin implant is used to improve the overall balance of the face and enhance the angle between the neck and chin. A consultation is required to determine the best recommendation for you.
Any suggestions on the color in mustache area after Juvederm?
Bruising after Juvederm injection
Aug 18, 2015
It is very common to bruise after a Juvederm injection and it should subside shortly. Before your next injection – try discontinuing products such as aspirin, fish oil, etc that are known to thin the blood and increase the chance of bruising. A product called Arnica Montana can be taken immediately following injections as well to help with decreasing the chance of bruising. Try to stay patient as the bruising subsides.Mark Petroff, M.D., FACS
Can I get away with half a face lift?
Necklift candidate
Aug 14, 2015
Thank you for your photos! You look as though you could benefit from a lower cheek/neck facelift. I recommend consulting with a board certified facial plastic surgeon to get suggestions on procedures that he/she would recommend. You can also get recommendations on how to successfully treat your lips – some doctors recommend fat transfer while others recommend injectable fillers. When consulting with a surgeon, be sure to look at before/after photos of his/her work and ask…

Possible facelift in near future
Aug 11, 2015
I recommend researching board certified facial plastic surgeons as they specialize in the procedures you are considering. Also, ask for references, look at before/after photos and check the surgeons malpractice history. You can find a list of board certified facial plastic surgeons in the link provided. In my practice a pre-operative appointment takes place 2 weeks before surgery. At that time, my patients are told which medications/supplements they need to discontinue prior to…

Rhinoplasty healing process
Aug 11, 2015
The healing process following a rhinoplasty is lengthy and can take several months for the swelling to subside. What you’re experiencing could be due to swelling. Try to be patient as you continue to heal and always remember to contact your surgeon with specific healing questions. Mark Petroff, M.D., FACS

I recommend consulting with a board certified facial plastic surgeon to determine which procedures you might benefit from. Botox injections may be a great place to start – being conservative is key at your age. Good luck with your search!Mark Petroff, M.D., FACS
Will my nostrils drop and look less piggy?
Rhinoplasty healing process
Aug 11, 2015
One week is far too early to determine how your nose will look once the healing is complete. The the majority of the swelling following a rhinoplasty is in the tip. As swelling subsides, the tip will begin to drop making it look less upturned. Continue to be patient as you heal. Mark Petroff, M.D., FACS

Jul 16, 2015
You look as though you may be a candidate for facial surgery based on your photos. I recommend consulting with a board certified facial plastic surgeon to get recommendations on procedures you could benefit from. Look at before and after photos of the doctors work and also ask for telephone references of patients he/she has performed surgery on. Botox takes 3 to 5 days to take effect – I would wait until that time to decide whether you are happy with the results or not. I recommend calling the doctor that performed your injections with specific questions or possibly follow up.
