Lumps and pulls!? I just had a facelift, brow lift and neck lift 9 days ago.
Facial asymmetry
Aug 23, 2018
Each side of the face is different. The left side of the face is usually less elastic (and therefore more saggy),and usually requires more lifting because of the sun damage (from driving the left side of the face gets more sun damage) . So it is not unusual to look different in the early months.
I still have prominent bruises under my eyes three weeks after my face, neck and blepharoplasty.
Everyone heals differently
Aug 23, 2018
If you bruised a lot, bruises can remain for 3 weeks. The good news is that it will ultimately resolve.
Brazilian Blowout hair treatment 3 months after facelift?
Good to go!
Aug 23, 2018
You should be comfortable doing the Brazilian blow out as long as all your incisions are closed. Would be very unusual if there were not .
What is a "normal time" to fly back home after a short scar facelift with extended neck lift and fat
Variability in healing
Jun 17, 2017
Healing can be very variable depending on how much you bruise and the type of face lift procedure you undergo. (By the way, "short scar" facelift only describes the incision, not what was done to the tissues once the skin incision has been made). That said, we usually tell patients they can't leave the area until we don't have to worry about them developing a hematoma (or bleeding ), as that could be a disaster if someone other than your original surgeon had to take you...
Can I get the smallest implants available to achieve perkiness without going up in size so I can kee
too much ptosis
Jun 7, 2016
Unfortunately, you have so much ptosis (sagging) that an implant alone would not provide you with the look you want.   If you are comfortable with a lift only, recognizing that your breasts will appear, volume-wise, smaller, then that is certainly the easiest (and the least complicated) way to go.  If you are uncertain, then I would suggest that you have the lift first, and see if you like the results once everything has settled in ....... if not, then an augmentation can still be pe...
How long should I book off of work for a tummy tuck?
minimum 2 weeks
Jun 7, 2016
Although there is no hard and fast rule for the amount of time that you need to take off work, the more physically demanding the work, the longer period of time you need to be away from work.  But, almost everyone takes 2 weeks off.  It is during this time that you have the greatest chance of complications including bleeding, so I advise everyone not to do anything during that period which increases the heart rate or blood pressure, and which does not put undue stress on the muscular t...
Chance of infection higher in hospital for breast augmentation?
Infection after breast augmentation-never seen
Jun 7, 2016
Infection after breast augmentation is almost nonexistent in a healthy, non-immune compromised individual, no matter the environment.   In 20plus years of doing breast augmentation in a hospital-based facility, I have NEVER had an implant infection .   Although I would like to attribute this to my stellar technique, as long as good sterile technique is practiced, it makes no difference where the surgery is performed.   What is more important, is finding a competent, qualified, board certi...
Permanent loss of nipple sensation after breast reduction surgery. What are the chances of getting s
Permanent loss of Nipple sensation very rare.
Jun 7, 2016
After performing  thousands of breast reduction  surgeries, I can comfortably tell you that because you have loss of sensation at 3 weeks does not mean that you will have complete loss of sensation at 1 year.   I have had permanent loss of sensation in two patients , both of whom were large reductions.  That's a very small percentage, but if you are that person, it can be problematic and even depressing for some patients.   However, at 3 weeks it is entirely too early to know what the result...

Individualization
Jun 7, 2016
Most experienced plastic surgeons today are quite comfortable with fat grafting in the face, and the majority of patients require both lifting AND fat grafting.  There are always exceptions to the rule based on the anatomy and the age of the patient, but , because we loose fat in our faces as we age, fat grafting assists with facial rejuvenation.       Because the vast  majority of patients who undergo face and neck lifts are greater than 50 years old (according to the latest statist...
Developed keratin pearl at the site where a stitch was removed 26 days after blepharoplasty.
Milia
Jun 7, 2016
Not to worry.  They are common following eyelid surgery, and can be easily treated by "unroofing" in the majority of cases by taking the sharp edge of an hypodermic needle and removing the thin layer overlying it which enables your doctor to remove it much like a pimple.  If it returns, then a small excision of the cyst can be done in the office under local.
Blepharoplasty - The incisions are not in the fold.
Hard to diagnose the difficulty
May 31, 2016
It is really too early to tell since it looks like you have a lot of swelling and that may impact the appearance of the scar.   It is also IMPOSSIBLE to tell you what is wrong with only one eye in the photo.  First thing you should see is see your surgeon and have a frank conversation about your concerns.  He/she will be best able to address those concerns after an examination and review of your chart.   If you have a complication , they will address it, but not till after adequate exam....
What is the best (and longest-lasting) facelift technique to lift heavy jowls?
jowls be gone
May 31, 2016
There are many techniques to improve the jowls and lift the face and neck.   The key is to find someone who has the experience and the right sort of results for you.  In general,  it is important to "lift" the hanging tissue rather than "pull" it back.  By lifting it improves not just the jowls, but the face and neck.       The second rule is "no tension"   If the facelift is done by lifting the skin and putting it under tension, it may look good early on the skin looses its' elasticity ...
1 hour vertical facelift versus a regular facelift?
1 hour vs. regular
May 31, 2016
I am sorry to hear that someone is advertising that a one hour facelift will achieve the same results as a standard facelift. It won't!      Although you will likely see an improvement of some type unless they have a complication, nothing, and I mean nothing, will give the same longer lasting results as a standard facelift.  Even if the result following a lesser procedure is an improvement, a standard facelift, in the right hands, will have a much better and longer lasting effect.       Us...
Is this normal? Can someone tell me what's going on with my scar on my right breast after reduction?
Healing differs in each individual
Nov 30, 2015
Although it is difficult to tell , the healing appears normal. However, if you are having a lot of itching,or you are concerned about the healing, it is best to contact your surgeon. Some itching is not unusual, but a great deal of itching can signal either allergic reaction to something you are putting on the wound, or an overactive healing process which can precede a hypertrophic scar. See your doctor for his expertise.
Crease below my belly button and asymmetrical incision. Is this just swelling?
Still early
Nov 30, 2015
It is always difficult to know the final results at such an early stage. If you had triplets you probably had a lot of extra skin not only from top to bottom but side to side. A standard abdominoplasty really only tightens up the skin from top to bottom. Because you had the muscles brought together, there may be some gathering of skin in the midline early on which tends to smooth out with time. Your belly button looks good to me in the photos, but if it changes, it is...
