Sorry to hear about your situation. Your surgeon likely has your best interests at heart. Once open and contaminated with normal skin bacteria, it is best to let this heal and close on it's own and then perform scar revision later, if necessary.

One of the downsides of medical tourism is lack of follow-up. What you see could be due to excess skin, swelling, blood accumulation/scar, or residual banding, among others. A good examination and review of your operative record is in order, if you can get that. Find a local facial plastic surgeon who can examine you and help you determine what to do next, if anything is necessary.Good luck to you!

Looks like you might have residual plastysmal bands. I cannot give much advice here as I was not present at your consultations or surgery. However, you may want to seek a consultation with an experienced facial surgeon who might suggest a more aggressive approach (assuming this was not done) to address these issues.

Your neck looks like it was a challenging one, and your surgeon may have performed any of a number of procedures to correct the heaviness of your preoperative neck. These lumps/bumps may be part of the normal healing process or evidence of that some intervention needs to be undertaken. I suggest you bring up your concerns with your surgeon.

Thank you for your question. Typically I tell my patients to expect to 'lay low' due to mild bruising and swelling for about 2-1/2 weeks. This will vary. About 5% will be ready by 10 days, and 5% will take over 3 weeks. So, about 90% of folks are good to go 2-1/2 weeks later. With regards to physical recovery, other than some tightness of the neck, most patients feel pretty good after that first week. I ask my patients to avoid heavy exercise or lifting for 3 weeks.Hope this helps...

This is of course only answerable by your surgeon with an in-person exam, to make sure you do not have a blood accumulation (hematoma).Having said that, as a facial plastic surgeon and a facial rejuvenation specialist, and having done hundreds of lifts, it is normal to have some difference between the sides in the first week or two after surgery. You need to give it a few more months. At that point, a conversation with your surgeon, including before/after photos, would be prudent. Dear DinaTelli-The staples sound scary but actually are BETTER in the hair-bearing skin. And importantly, they're easier to remove (less pain for you!). The incisions directly behind the ear, in the non-scalp skin, are treated with traditional stitches. If for some reason a patient really does not want the staples, we can always use regular sutures.
