Fixing a bulbous nasal tip
Jan 2, 2019
Hi, Based on the photos provided, Botox would not provide significant benefit unless your nostrils are flaring significantly with movement. You would benefit from a rhinoplasty to reduce the fullness in the tip and this can certainly be done while maintaining a natural, not operated-on, appearance. Best of luck!

Neck contour improvement
Dec 17, 2018
Based on the photos provided and your age, liposuction alone would likely provide a satisfactory improvement. Your skin’s elasticity should allow it to contract without the need for skin removal or an energy based device. Without an in person consultation, it is difficult to determine if there is fat beneath the thin platysma muscles of the neck which would require surgical excision through a slightly larger incision under the chin. Occasionally there are t...

The appearance of the lesion is most consistent with an epidermal inclusion cyst also called a milia. These are benign collections of sebaceous material that that can easily be removed in an in-office setting using local anesthesia. Hope this helps!

Facelift Expectations: Choosing your Surgeon
Jun 6, 2018
This is an excellent question but one that is somewhat difficult to answer. It is certainly important to choose a surgeon with experience, training and compassion. Experience related to prior surgical results can be assessed using patient photographs as well as patient referral or speaking to prior patients. Training could be determined by checking the local medical board for any board actions as well as researching board certification such as The American...

After weight loss, what can be done about a turkey neck?
May 10, 2018
Let me join the others who have already responded to your question by congratulating you on your weight-loss! Is difficult to see your neck in the photo provided but I suspect based on the amount of weight that you lost and your age that you do have some degree of skin laxity in the neck. This would most likely benefit from the lower facelift/neck lift. Although there are other nonsurgical options available, the results tend to be more limited and less long-lasting...
Am I a good candidate for rhinoplasty?
Am I a good candidate for rhinoplasty?
May 10, 2018
Based on the photos provided you are an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty. The tip can be refined to appear more feminine and less boxy and if desired, reduction of the hump can also be done while still maintaining a strong profile. The goal of rhinoplasty should be to bring attention away from the nose And provide balance with the remaining facial features. It is important that you convey your specific requests with your surgeon....
Do all facelifts include Platysmaplasty?
Facelift with or without platysmaplasty
May 4, 2018
Not all facelifts involve platysmaplasty but in your case given the bands in the neck, I would recommend one. Facelift is not a single technique or a one size fits all procedure and the technique chosen is based on the physical findings. SMAS rhytidectomy effectively treats the jawline and neck but not the mid face. This may be a good choice for patients just starting to see laxity along the jawline and neck. The mid face can be better addressed with deep...
Lip fillers. How are Juvederm and Juvederm Volbella XC different?
Juvederm vs Volbella
Apr 23, 2018
Both of these are hyaluronic acid products and are generally safe unless someone has multiple allergies or is allergic to lidocaine.. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the body and, therefore, these do not cause an immune reaction but if you are on immunosuppressive medication, you would be at greater risk of infection. The difference is that Volbella has cross link technology and it is used for more subtle lip enhancement. Hope this helps.

Rhinoplasty Candidate
Apr 23, 2018
Based on the photos provided, you appear to be a good candidate for rhinoplasty to reduce the hump and refine your tip which may include decreasing the tip projection, lifting the columella which divides your nostrils and narrowing the base. You might also consider a chin implant to balance your profile which can also help with reducing the appearance of nasal projection. I understand your concern about not wanting to change your appearance but obviously any surgery is...

Anesthesia for Necklift?
Jun 2, 2017
You do not need general anesthesia for a necklift. I have performed this procedure with sedation anesthesia as well as local anesthesia with and without oral medications to assist with relaxation. Hope this helps.
32 year old male. Neck lift or Necklift with Jaw line enhancement?
Neck lift with or without jawline enhancement
Jul 27, 2016
Based on the photos provided, you appear to have a mild amount of fullness under the chin. This could be superficial subcutaneous fat above the platysma muscle of the neck which would respond to liposuction or there could be deeper fat below it which requires surgical contouring through a small incision. Less commonly, there can also be enlargement of a deeper pair of muscles which can be trimmed without creating a functional deformity. This can be determined during a...

Rhinoplasty Candidate?
Apr 21, 2016
Hi,Thank you for your question.  It appears from the photos provided that you do have a small hump but primarily it appears that the tip of your nose is underrotated giving the nose an overly long look.  The tip also appears mildly widened.  Rhinoplasty would be able to address these issues using cartilage modification techniques to lift and narrow the tip.  To provide long term results, cartilage is sometimes placed in the tip of the nose for support but this depends on the strength of you...
Does a mini facelift include tightening the muscles?
Mini facelift vs Facelift
Apr 15, 2016
Thank you for your question.  The first thing to clarify is that mini facelift does not mean the same thing to every physician.  It may mean using a shorter scar or a less extended dissection in the cheek.  There are also different techniques for a "full" facelift.  The goal of the procedure is to choose the appropriate technique to satisfy the patient's goals and not be restricted to a particular title.  In terms of tightening the muscles, this is also often misunderstood.  In the cheek...

Non-surgical Facelift Options
Apr 15, 2016
Many patients are choosing non-surgical options to avoid extended down times with the goal of natural looking results.  Options may include Botox, fillers and energy based devices.  Botox tends to be most beneficial for the upper face with fillers helping to add volume to the mid face for a lifted appearance.  Energy based devices include Ultherapy and ThermiTight.  Ultherapy uses ultrasound energy to lift and tighten and is completely non-invasive.  ThermiTight uses radiofrequency ener...

ThermiTight vs Ultherapy
Dec 28, 2015
Results with either procedure will depend on the degree of skin laxity and fatty tissue accumulation. In my experience, Ultherapy is appropriate for younger patients just starting to see aging changes with minimal to mild laxity who are looking for a completely noninvasive procedure. For patients with mild to moderate laxity, ThermiTight, which is minimally invasive, may be preferred for more consistent results. Satisfaction with either procedure is dependent on...
