Would I be a good candidate for fat transfer under eyes?
Options for lower eyelid hollowness
Jul 7, 2020
Fat transfer is certainly an option. You might want to consider an non-permanent injectable filler to make sure you are comfortable with the appearance before you do something permanent like fat injections. You will likely need to have the anterior cheek pad below the orbital rim injected as well as the entire orbital rim/lower eyelid complex to get the most natural result. Hyaluronic acid fillers are excellent for the lower eyelids, and several fillers work well for...
During a rhinoplasty or revision rhinoplasty how does a surgeon decide how much he can reduce the proj
Deciding the proper tip projection during surgery
Apr 30, 2020
There is no exact, universally agreed upon method for determining tip projection at the time of nasal surgery. I think virtually every nasal surgeon has his or her own method for determining the proper projection intraoperatively. For me, it involves aligning the tip projection with the patients nasal dorsum. I first set the dorsal height and angle, and then align the most projecting point of the nasal tip with those features. The proposed tip projection...
Am I a candidate for upper and/or lower blepharoplasty for crepey under eyes and slight eyelid ptosis?
Am I a candidate for blepharoplasty, ptosis surgery
Apr 30, 2020
In my experience, lower eyelid blepharoplasty is not the best treatment for crepey lower eyelid skin. It is difficult to remove enough eyelid skin to improve the crepiness without potentially causing a permanent downward retraction of the lower eyelid margin. Topical skin treatments, including chemical peels, laser resurfacing, and retinoids typically work better for crepey skin. Botox may be helpful in your case as it appears the contracting eyelid muscle is...
What is the best approach for correcting my saddle nose deformity caused by a feminizing rhinoplasty/s
Correcting Saddle Nose Deformity
Apr 16, 2020
Yes, as the other physicians have stated, you have an over-resected dorsum and likely a loss of tip support. You should not have any more "hump" removed unless it is in preparation for placing a graft to augment your dorsum. I now prefer cartilage grafts to artificial implants. Septal cartilage if available, then ear bowl cartilage, or rib cartilage if you need significant tip support also. An experienced surgeon can improve the appearance without returning to your...
Are Botox and Juvederm safe for people with keloids?
keloids after injections
Jul 11, 2019
You should be fine. Keloids are very unusual in those areas of the face, although they can rarely occur. The skin around the ear and the sides of the neck are the head and neck areas where we most often see keloids. For example, keloids following ear piercing is a not uncommon occurrence in patients prone to keloiding. So the central face with fine needles or cannulas should do well.
Is there a way to make my nose shorter from the profile?
Long Nose
Feb 27, 2019
By pretty long, do you mean the length of your nose from between the eyebrows (nasofrontal angle) to the nasal tip, how far your nose projects from your face, or both? Fortunately, both of these nasal features are very common and can typically be improved with conventional rhinoplasty techniques. Likewise, a large, protruding nasal spine can be reduced with rhinoplasty surgery.
Doctor said it very risky to do rhinoplasty, is this true? Doesn't it mean I have no options?
Rhinoplasty
May 15, 2017
I would recommend waiting 6-8 weeks from the date of the nasal fracture to allow the bones to heal, and then proceed with the rhinoplasty as normal. If the bones have healed with a non-union of the fracture, I believe the rhinoplasty can be safely done with the surgeon aware of the non-union.
Goretex implant to raise bridge in ethnic skin with Latex Allergy. Confused about Gortex and cartilage
Gortex vs. cartilage on the nasal dorm
Aug 15, 2016
You raise some very good questions. I have used many Gortex implants and many cartilage grafts on the nasal dorsum. I have two employees who have had Gortex on the bridge of there nose for over 20 years without problems. Both cartilage and Gortex can give excellent results, but both can have problems also. In my experience, infection is very unusual with either, but can occur requiring removal and replacement. Although unusual, I have seen more...
Would rhinoplasty be a suitable option for me?
Rhinoplasty decision
Aug 22, 2014
Looking at the photos you provided, I think a rhinoplasty would improve the appearance of your nose. A non-smiling frontal view and a profile view would be helpful to evaluate your nose further. Your present nose is not an unattractive nose, and you have a very pretty face, but refining your nose would enhance your appearance further.i would lean toward doing a complete rhinoplasty over a tip-plasty so all the nasal components can be properly aligned
