Male, 44, poor neck/jaw line. What can I do?
Neck and chin treatment options
Oct 11, 2018
The appearance of the neck and jawline can be due to many factors that include genetic predisposition and skeletal and soft tissue anatomy. Unfortunately, the photos do not provide a great view of the entire neck and chin/jaw. Nonsurgical options to improve the appearance of the neck include Kybella. Kybella is an injectable medication that requires several treatments for best results. Depending on skin elasticity, liposuction may also improve the appearance by removing…
Internal scarring? Post rhinoplasty
Post Op Rhinoplasty
May 21, 2018
Unfortunately, the nasal tip takes quite a while to heal. At this point in time, it is normal to still have swelling of the tip with the nasal tip feeling fairly hard. With time, you will noticed that the nasal tip will soften as swelling resolves. It takes a full year for a rhinoplasty to completely heal. You look great, but if there are any concerns you should follow up with your surgeon.
Can you break or crack your nose cartilage?
Nasal Injury
Nov 6, 2017
Both the nasal cartilage and bone can be fractured during nasal trauma. It can take many weeks or longer for all swelling and tenderness to completely resolve. Unfortunately, you are out of the window where the bones would be easily placed back into their proper position. At this point, I would recommend waiting 4-6 months for the nose to heal. At that point, if you have nasal obstruction or a cosmetic deformity due to the trauma, surgery is an option. With…

Lip lines after injection
Aug 3, 2017
Thank you for your question. A photograph and injection date would be very helpful. It is not uncommon to have bruising that matches your description following injections, especially if the injection was performed with a needle as it usually is in this area. This will typically will resolve with time. Occasionally, if filler is placed close to the surface of the skin, you can get a blue discoloration to the area, referred to as the Tyndall effect…
Is it normal that I have lumps after getting lip fillers?
Lumps after lip filler
Mar 2, 2017
Unfortunately, swelling and lumps can occur after lip augmentation with fillers. This can improve on its own after several days. If it does not, I would recommend returning you your injector to be evaluated in person. Simply massaging the area my improve the appearance. Otherwise, injection of hyaluronidase may be necessary for resolution.
Can a lower bleph be done again 10 years later to improve sagging skin?
Blepharoplasty “tuck-up”
Feb 11, 2017
Thank you for your question. It is not uncommon to need a “tuck up” procedure 10 years after a blepharoplasty. Even with cosmetic surgery, the aging process continues. This can result in redevelopment of skin laxity and puffiness under the eyes. Be sure to consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon, oculoplastic surgeon, or plastic surgeon.
Risk of using septal cartilage for nasal valve surgery.
Nasal Valve Collapse
Dec 7, 2016
Thank you for your question. There are several ways of correcting nasal valve collapse depending on the location of collapse (internal vs. external nasal valve). For alar batten grafts, my donor site of choice is the septal cartilage if no previous septal surgery has been performed. It is in the same surgical field and often provides enough cartilage and adequate support. If there is not enough septal cartilage, auricular cartilage is acceptable. However, this requires…
