Congratulations on your decision to pursue a tummy tuck procedure—One of the most impactful Plastic surgery procedures we perform. From your photos it certainly does not appear you have as much horizontal laxity of your abdomen to warrant a Fleur-Di-Lis type abdominal body contouring. With a combination of circumferential liposuction and formal abdominoplasty with rectus muscle plication, You can keep the scar low in the suprapubic region and give excellent…

Hello, it seems you have a general idea of what you want and desire changed about your nose, but your photos don’t give a full picture of the structure, shape or soft tissue characteristics. Having a plan is paramount for a well executed operation and excellent outcome Making a game day decision to change your nose is never a good idea. Have a meaningful discussion with your plastic surgeon about what can be achieved, and solicit his advice about what may b…
Is it safer to have a facelift in a hospital or office surgery center?
Is it safer to have a facelift in a hospital or office surgery center?
Feb 19, 2019
Thank you for your question. The best option for the location of your surgery depends on several factors. First, if the surgery is in a surgery center, you need to make sure it is fully accredited – this means that is has met stringent national standards for operating room safety, equipment and personnel. The personnel includes a board certified plastic surgeon in good standing, as well as a board certified anesthesiologist and a highly trained and licensed support staff. While a hospital…
Should I get a brow lift or blepharoplasty?
Should I get a brow lift or blepharoplasty? (photo)
Feb 19, 2019
Thank you for your question. From your picture, it looks as if your brow is smooth and in a good position, so a brow lift is probably not your best option. A lower lid blepharoplasty may help with excess skin and fat under your eyes that make you look tired, however, it is difficult to tell simply from one picture. I recommend that you schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. They can examine you and let you know if you are a candidate for either procedure, as well as…

Burning sensation in my left breast. What can I do to help?
Feb 19, 2019
Thank you for your question. Without examining you or knowing any details about your breast augmentation surgery, it is impossible to give you an accurate answer. You did the right thing by seeing a doctor, and it most likely is a nerve issue, as this is fairly common after breast augmentation. However, I recommend that you follow-up with your plastic surgeon for a more comprehensive examination and explanation. Good luck!
What happens to the skin as people age, or gain a few extra pounds?
What happens to the skin as people age, or gain a few extra pounds?
Feb 19, 2019
Thank you for your question. Liposuction is designed to be a long-lasting solution, but how long it lasts and how your look is maintained depends on you. If you gain weight, you will most likely see more gains in the areas of your body that were no treated by lipo, because there are less fat cells in the treatment area after the procedure. The best option is to manage your weight through a healthy diet and exercise. As far as skin changes, everyone will see a difference in their skin 10…

What can I do about big lump 2 months after lipo? (Photos)
Feb 19, 2019
Thank you for your question. The lump you are describing could be attributed to several things: a seroma, a hernia, scar tissue, or a normal side effect of recovery. I recommend that you follow up with your surgeon. They can examine you and diagnose the problem, as well as offer options to successfully treat it. Good luck!

I keep reading that post-facelift swelling can last up to a year! Where is this swelling? Is it noticeable?
Feb 19, 2019
Thank you for your question. While the majority of your facelift swelling will go down in about two weeks, there is a bit of swelling that remains. Most will be gone after about three months, and after six months, any residual swelling will be nearly invisible. If you are considering a facelift, I recommend that you schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. They can examine you, answer any questions you may have and address your concerns about the procedure and recovery…
What if I already used a chemical peel while on Accutane?
What if I already used a chemical peel while on Accutane?
Feb 19, 2019
Thank you for your question. As you already know, Accutane causes your skin to be extremely sensitive, so getting a chemical peel while taking it is not advisable. Not only can it cause temporary pain (like you’re experiencing) but you are more prone to getting an infection or permanent scarring. Without a picture it is difficult to tell you what to do, but what I do recommend is that you see your dermatologist and get their take on what can be done to help heal your nose. I would also t…

I want to know which treatment is best for my arm fat? (photos)
Feb 19, 2019
Thank you for your question. From your pictures, it appears that you would benefit from either surgical or nonsurgical fat reduction procedures. SmartLipo is an excellent option, as it is designed to remove excess fat and more precisely contour your trouble areas. If you want to go the nonsurgical route, CoolSculpting can also help reduce arm fat. Because you are young, your skin should gradually “bounce back” after fat removal so that you aren’t left with sagging or loose tissue in the a…

I was wondering if I could use Botox/fillers to help lift my cheeks up and create a slimmer/sharper facial appearance? (photo)
Feb 19, 2019
Thank you for your question. The short answer is that yes, Botox and fillers can be used in several ways to contour your face. However, without examining you in person, it is difficult to say how exactly you would benefit. Filler can be used to augment your cheeks and jaw, while Botox can help with overdevelopment of the masseter muscles (which can make your jaw look heavy, rather than V-shaped). I recommend that you schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. They can…
Waistline reduction on rectangular frame, would lipo work?
Waistline reduction on rectangular frame, would lipo work? (photos)
Feb 19, 2019
Thank you for your question. The short answer is that no, liposuction is not something that would be beneficial in your case. You don’t appear to have excess body fat around your waist, and in my opinion, you are not square at all – you have a beautiful figure. Your skeletal structure is what it is, and is designed to keep your internal organs safe. Removing a rib for the sake of a smaller waist is unnecessary and dangerous, as is waist training (because it compresses your organs and can c…

Feb 19, 2019
Thank you for your question. As you can see from my colleagues’ answers, there are any number of techniques that can be used to successfully lift your brows and address the concerns you put forth. It seems that you have done your research and gotten more than one in-person examination and opinion – I would advise that of those surgeons you consulted with, you choose one who is board certified with plenty of experience in brow lifts, and who you feel the most comfortable with. Good luck!
Do your ears look different after a facelift?
Do your ears look different after a facelift?
Feb 19, 2019
Thank you for your question. While swelling after facelift surgery may initially cause a bit of distortion in your face that may make your ears appear to look “off,” the reality is that no, your ears will not look different. This has obviously happened to people, and the reason for it is because they did not get a GOOD facelift. A GOOD facelift is performed by a board certified plastic surgeon who is experienced in facelift procedures. They use incisions hidden in the contours of your ear…
Will I need a lift if I get a breast augmentation?
Will I need a lift if I get a breast augmentation? (photo)
Feb 19, 2019
Thank you for your question. Judging from you picture, it would appear that you would benefit from a breast lift along with your augmentation. An augmentation will only add volume, which will give you cleavage, but your nipples and areolae will still be at the bottom of your breasts instead of centered. Additionally, while there isn’t significant sagging, the weight of the implants will cause your breasts to sag a bit more. Adding a lift to your augmentation can help prevent that, as well a…
