ARTAS FUE Hair Transplant – 1,541 Grafts – Norwood II With Dr Shelly Friedman, DO, FAAD, FISHRS, Scottsdale, Arizona
Dr. Friedman performed a FUE transplant using the newest hair restoration technology, ARTAS. The ARTAS procedure enables Dr. Friedman to use a robot to harvest grafts with a precise level of control and accuracy leaving the donor area without noticeable scarring. Our patient is a 40 year old male that had sparse areas in the hairline and temples. Dr. Friedman successfully transplanted 1,541 grafts. Total of 755 single follicles were placed in the hairline and temples. 786 group follicular units were placed in frontal region, bilateral temples and hairline. FUE via the ARTAS is minimally invasive allowing the donor area with small pin sized undetectable scarring, unlike the FUT lateral eclipse scarring. ARTAS is best for those who may desire to keep a short styled hair cut or shave their head. Dr. Friedman uses custom blades and strategically places each follicular unit at the correct angle and direction creating the patient’s transplanted grafts to grow in a natural pattern. These photos show our patient pre-op and 1 year post-op. Patient’s hair loss prevention is using low-level laser therapy every other day for 30 minutes. (Mar 26, 2015)
