I have extra bit of skin on my labia I think from when I was a child and fell and hit between my legs.
Minor repair
Apr 3, 2018
It looks like a minor repair would take care of the extra skin flap I see on the left labia. Probably a simple office procedure by a qualified Gyn specialist.
Labiaplasty wedge separation, revision with trim?
Separation of repair
Oct 1, 2017
It looks like the left side had a wedge type labiaplasty that separated. This could be repaired with a revision labiaplasty and would be unlikely to happen again if properly done. I recommend a gyn specialist for evaluation and treatment. Some plastic surgeons have expertise in this type of procedure too.
Is my vaginal opening normal?
Normal appearance
Oct 1, 2017
Based on the pictures, I can’t see anything that looks abnormal. The “bumps” are part of the hymenal ring and vary in appearance from woman to woman. If you are concerned, then I suggest seeing a gynecologist for reassurance and a regular check up.
Is this normal? What is it?
Normal
Aug 27, 2017
It looks like the picture shows the hymenal ring at the vaginal opening. This is normal and looks a little different in everyone.
Will a vaginal hysterectomy cause my vagina to be loose? If so, how can this be prevented?
Vaginal repair and hysterectomy
Jul 6, 2017
It sounds like your surgeon has already planned to repair some weak support in the pelvic floor and vagina. The hysterectomy would not typically be cause for loosening of the vagina. In fact, at the time of hysterectomy, we usually take advantage of the opportunity to improve pelvic and vaginal strength by tightening the “ligaments” and supporting structures of the bladder, rectum and vaginal opening. A sling is often recommended if there is significant urinary stress incontinence.
Almost 6 weeks post op wedge labiaplasty and very scared that everything got pulled down? Opening too
6 weeks healing
May 11, 2017
The labia look normal and the healing appears to be going well. As far as the clitoris, surrounding tissues and vaginal opening size, it’s hard to tell but certainly you will know more about sexual function when you resume activities.
DO you think my surgeon left to much skin on my labia ? Or is it too swollen to tell?
Normal healing labiaplasty
May 2, 2017
From the photo it looks like normal healing 6 days after surgery. If you have concerns I suggest calling the surgeon and getting advice from the office.
