Would I be a good candidate for S lift OR full facelift?
Would I be a good candidate for S lift OR full facelift?
Apr 15, 2017
S-Lifts, sometimes referred to as mini-facelifts, work well for people who have minimal to moderate relaxation in the neck. In particular they’re good for younger patients, who might want to wear their hair up. Even though the S-Lift gives you a limited incision, you can still have some of the muscle work done underneath.
In your specific case, the limited incision S-Lift will still allow your surgeon to perform the muscular repositioning needed to address the area of concern. An S…
Would anything other than a neck lift be a waste of time and money?
Would anything other than a neck lift be a waste of time and money?
Apr 15, 2017
I imagine it must be frustrating to have lost all that weight, only for your neck to sag. This happened because the skin of your neck lost its elasticity over time.
Weight fluctuation can cause a lot of problems like this. So before surgery, I would recommend achieving a stable weight.
Once you’ve done so, you’ll be a good candidate for a lower facelift, which would include work on your neck. I wouldn’t recommend any non-surgical procedures to treat your area of concern. The best resul…
Male having facelift. Will I lose my nice head of hair?
Male having facelift. Will I lose my nice head of hair?
Apr 15, 2017
Hair loss after a facelift isn’t particularly common, but it’s not unheard of either. If you’re worried, here are some things to keep in mind.
First, if you do have some hair loss shortly after a facelift, don’t panic. Temporary hair loss can happen after all kind of surgeries, usually as a result of stress. This happens because people worry before the surgery, and the anesthesia puts stress on their body during the surgery. If you happen to have temporary hair loss, you might enhance…
Is 40 too young for a Facelift?
Facelift at 40
Apr 7, 2010
It depends on where you are in the aging process. Only a qualified surgeon can tell you if you are a candidate for a face Lift. Face Lifts can dramatically refresh and rejuvenate the face, help restore youth, soften deep lines and eliminate relaxation of tissue especially at the jaw line and neck area.
What are the pros and cons of a face lift?
Benefits of a facelift
Apr 7, 2010
Face Lifts can dramatically refresh and rejuvenate the face by removing excess fat, suspending layers of relaxed tissue and removing surplus of facial skin. While a Face Lift usually makes patients look younger and less tired, softer and more youthful result. Speak with a board certified Plastic surgeon specializing in facelift procedures to minimize any risk of complications.
How long does a facelift last?
Lasting results depend on technique
Apr 7, 2010
Some Face Lifts only tighten the loose skin. These procedures will last the least amount of time. This might be an acceptable procedure for some patients, but it might not give a long lasting result. The SMAS Lift offers the most natural improvement to the face because the underlying tissue layers and muscles of the face are lifted and repositioned, improving the jaw line and neck area.
By using this technique, patients look more the way they used to look before the aging process since the…
How effective is a brow lift?
Brow Lift is very effective in achieving a refreshed look
Apr 7, 2010
As we age, our skin loosens and wrinkles, causing drooping of the forehead area as well as creases and lines that can make us appear angry, sad, old or tired. A forehead lift can address these problems by surgically altering the muscles and tissues that cause wrinkling and/or drooping in the area above the eyes. It can also help people of any age who have developed furrows or frown lines due to stress, sun damage or muscle activity. People with inherited conditions, such as a low, heavy…
What results can I expect from a face lift?
What to expect in a facelift procedure
Feb 11, 2010
There are a number of techniques for performing a Face Lift; every surgeon approaches the procedure their own way. My technique utilizes the underlying muscle providing a more natural and longer lasting result than the “skin only lift”.

During surgery the deeper tissues are tightened, the loose skin is draped up and back, and any excess is removed. The result is a smoother, fresher appearance. A Face Lift can help to smooth prominent “cords” in the neck. Tightening the tissues of the…

When is a face lift the best choice?
The best candadite for a Facelift procedure
Feb 11, 2010
Having a Face Lift doesn’t stop the clock. Your face will continue to age with time, but the effects are long lasting; years later, you’ll continue to look better than if you’d never had a Face Lift at all.
The best candidates for plastic surgery are women and men who are physically healthy, psychologically stable, and realistic in their expectations. You can decide by identifying your reasons for wanting cosmetic surgery and educating yourself about what you can realistically expect.
Effective and long-lasting procedure for lifting jowls?
The best way to address kowls
Feb 11, 2010
Addressing the relaxation of the SMAS (Muscle) as well as the fatty tissue relaxation in the jowl area will give you the longest lasting results.
What is acceptable background to do facelift surgery?
You have one face, carefully research your facelift surgeon
Feb 11, 2010
If I was looking for a surgeon for this procedure, the only surgeon I would consider is a Board certified plastic surgeon with specific training in facelift surgery.
You have one face.
Hopefully you respect yourself enough to trust your face with a fully trained well qualified individual.
Is there a non surgical face lift that works?
Liquid Facelift is not the same as a facelift
Feb 11, 2010
A facelift is still the best way to tighten jowls and skin laxity in the face
It depends on the deformity the patient has…The aging process is composed of not only skin relaxation but also displacement of the underlying tissues like muscle and fat as well as bony reabsorption.
If the patient has minimal lines around the eyes or forehead one may use Botox or other fillers. Deflation of the cheek area and jaw line may also be addressed with fillers. It all depends on the patient’s…
Do face lift creams really work?
The best anti-aging cream is sun block
Feb 11, 2010
Creams, serums and lotions are not able to do much more than assist with fine lines. They are helpful in maintaining youthful skin however will not transform loose skin… This can only be achieved surgically. Sun exposure causes pre-mature aging and skin cancer. A good sun block with UVA and UVB protection will help limit your sun exposure and using Retinol (Vitamin A) and fruit acids will help to improve existing sun damage. A good moisturizer will keep you hydrated and facials will keep…

A facelift is still the best way to tighten jowls and skin laxity in the face
Feb 11, 2010
I would recommend speaking with a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in facial plastic surgery that can evaluate your face .The aging process is composed of not only skin relaxation but also displacement of the underlying tissues like muscle and fat as well as bony reabsorption. There are other non-invasive procedures, but will never give you the longer lasting result of a Facelift.
Anesthesia used during a facelift?
Anesthesia for Facelift Procedures
Feb 11, 2010
I would not suggest having a full facelift procedure under local. In my practice my preferred anesthetic is IV sedation (not general) with Local infiltration monitored by board certified anesthesiologist.
