It does not have any long term issues regarding the initial separation provided it is done correctly. Hello! Malar mounds are not uncommon with aging. You photos do seem to show fluid retention (third photo) and this can in itself be due to a variety of factors- allergies, lack of sleep, excess salt, or your recent filler. Filler in the area can increase water retention and if you noted worsening after filler consider some removal in trouble areas with hyaluronidase. Hello! Weight loss does not impact fillers. Fillers are naturally dissolved by an enzyme found in the skin, hyaluronidase. Tobacco use and ultraviolet light (sun exposure) have been shown to increase hyaluronidase but weight loss does not. A significant amount of weight loss (usually more than 10 pounds) can cause loss of volume in the face though, from natural fat loss but this is not a loss of filler volume. Good luck!

Hello! A physical exam would be necessary to give a definitive answer but it looks like you would be a good candidate for fillers to the hear trough. You appear to have hollowing in the area, and slight bulge of fat making the shadowing worse. I would recommend trying fillers injected by an experienced injector if your exam confirms the photos. I do not recommend fat in the lower lid as it can be asymmetric and is permanent. good luck!
