Natural Results Matter
Mar 1, 2023
Good morning fellow Marylander,
Your list of questions hits what’s on 99% of patient’s minds when they are considering this surgery. The top concerns I hear are #1: I want to still look like myself, just refreshed #2 How quickly can I get back to my normal life.
I would advise you to find a surgeon who’s results appear consistently natural. I would recommend finding someone you can trust to guide you on the best option for your primary areas of concern. Find someone that really listens to…
Do I need to cut my hair for a Hair Transplant?
Hair trimming not needed
Feb 27, 2023
Good morning from Washington DC!
This is a great question and wrongfully scares many women away from getting a transplant that would benefit them. For the majority of women who keep their hair longer, my recommendation is to get an FUT hair transplant. This is where a strip is removed from the back of the scalp and the skin edges are meticulously closed together. On the day of transplant, I only shave that strip of hair that is removed. The rest of the hair is left long so that right after…

Mini lift confusion
Feb 27, 2023
Good morning from Washington DC!
Thank you for your question. I love the way you phrased it – 47 years YOUNG!There are a lot of semantics in facelift surgery which can make things very confusing. One surgeon’s “mini lift” may be the same as somebody’s “full facelift” for example. Over the last several years, I have transitioned my facelift practice to move away from the “mini-lift” concept which was a SMAS facelift. I now perform an extended deep plane lift for all appropriate surgical…
Is it possible for any face lifting technique to specifically target superficial fat pads?
Fat pads during facelift surgery – Carpet Metaphor
Feb 27, 2023
Greetings from Washington DC,
Excellent question! As you probably already have researched, during a facelift the SMAS layer is manipulated in some way (my preference is to do the deep plane technique so you can freely move that layer anywhere). You want to think about the fat pads of the face in relation to that SMAS layer and think of it like a carpet. The fat pads that are superficial and medial (closer to the midline) to the SMAS entry point, are the ones that will be repositioned since…

Great candidate
Feb 27, 2023
Good morning from Washington DC!
Thank you for posting your question with the photos. I would recommend you search for surgeons who frequently perform the deep plane technique for your lower facial/neck surgery. This technique releases all the anchor points in the face/neck so the deeper layer (SMAS) can be repositioned freely. This results in no tension on the skin and translates into a more natural result in my opinion. I hope that helps!

Why would a doctor remove so much of my hair? Is my only option a hair transplant?
Hair loss after facelift
Feb 20, 2023
Good morning from Washington DC,
Due to the surgeon’s incision design within the temporal hairline, they ended up removing a lot of the hair bearing skin. I like to design my incisions within the side burn so this doesn’t happen. Unfortunately, the only way to get that hair back is with a hair transplant. No medications or PRP injections will help with the hair loss since it was surgically removed. In my experience, women do really well with FUT hair transplants in cases like this.

Unhappy with neck lift results & would like to know if there is a solution?
Neck contour
Feb 20, 2023
Good morning from Washington DC,
It appears as if you still have some soft tissue laxity in the neck and lower face. You may need a revision surgery to release the skin and reposition the platysma muscle (deep plane technique). They may have also removed some fat in the central neck without addressing the submandibular gland (evident on the left side, under your jawline). Sometimes these have to be trimmed and/or repositioned. I hope this helps!
Wishing you all the best,Dr. SitaparaChevy…
