Answer Snippet
Should I get an otoplasty revision? 3 weeks post-op.
Otoplasty Revision
Jun 1, 2018
At 3 weeks, there are still some changes and likely some relaxation depending upon the technique used that may occur. Certainly discuss this with your surgeon who may be able to better guide you as to what you can expect in the coming months. Good luck!

Is my gummy smile a lip muscle problem or a gum problem; is it something else entirely? Most importantl
Gummy Smile
May 31, 2018
A smile is actual the result of multiple facial muscles acting in combination to move portions of the lip and the cheek. There are different classification systems for smiles, but generally speaking, when there is too much show, botox can be used to decrease some of the selective muscle action. This can then decrease some of the gum show. Care must be taken as to which muscles are injected in order to get the result that is sought after. This is something best discussed in a…
Earlobe ripped. Can it be fixed with surgery?
Torn Earlobe
May 29, 2018
Often these tend to heal over with new skin, preventing the tear from closing again. This can usually be repaired in the office under local anesthesia, followed by re-piercing if desired after enough time for healing. Good luck!

Deep plane facelift. Do they tend to trim the SMAS?
Deep Plane Facelift
May 8, 2018
While there are many techniques and some variability between surgeons as to how they do them, typically a deep plane facelift involves excising excess SMAS during the lift. Good luck!
Why has my smile completely changed after botox?
Smile Change
May 8, 2018
Botox works in the muscle it is injected into. Depending on the dilution and techniques, there is some spread of the botox after injection and it may effect unintended surrounding musculature. The good news with botox is that its effects are not permanent, but can last for up to 4 months depending upon the dosage used. Would certainly be worth discussing with your injector. Good luck!

Rhinoplasty Surgeons
May 6, 2018
You may want to consider looking at Facial Plastic Surgeons as well. These are often Otolaryngologists (ENTs) who have gone on to have further training in Facial Plastic Surgery. This often gives an excellent background in both the functional (breathing) and aesthetic aspects of nasal surgery. Meeting with surgeons and ultimately your gut feeling will certainly play a large role. It certainly can be a hard decision but the consultation process should help answer any questions/fears…
I have bells palsy since October 10th of 2016. Will Botox help fix my face?
Botox For Bell’s Palsy
Apr 24, 2018
Botox is used in improving facial asymmetries and synkinesis (extra or unwanted muscle movement) that can occur during the recovery from Bell’s palsy. This may even be covered by your insurance for synkinesis if this is a problem. Be sure to discuss what you’re looking to achieve with your surgeon to make sure you may get the improvement you’re looking to achieve. Good luck!
