Answer Snippet
Do I need different filler for temple, cheek and under eye area?
Candidacy for fillers
Oct 21, 2019
Fillers are a wonderful option to volumize and help contour a face to look rejuvenated.  They look natural when used correctly and for the correct purpose.  It is preferable to use fillers to contour the cheek and jaw region first, and then focus on the thinner skin regions such as temples, lower eyelid region, smile lines, etc.  I prefer to use different type of fillers based on the region and goal. Cheeks/jaw: voluma or restylane lyftLowerlid:  restylane refyne, restyslane or vollu...
Am I a good candidate for under eye/tear trough filler or is my mid face too flat?
Candidacy for fillers
Oct 21, 2019
Fillers are an option to volumize the face when used sparingly and correctly.  For lower lid regions, this area can be treated with filler in the cheek region to help support the midface and then fillers can be used to the lower lid and tear trough region to further enhance this area. Also, fat transfer can be considered for a semi-permanent option.
Is it okay to get a facelift and then 2 months later get a tummy tuck?
Facelift Healing
Oct 21, 2019
Ultimately, the exact timing of being cleared after a facelift will be up to your treating surgeon.  However, by about 2 months you should be cleared to undergo a procedure safely pending your labs and medical clearances are in agreement.  The safety question is based on risks of anesthesia and this is dependent on your personal health, clearance, healing and relationship with your surgeon who will guide you. Also, this can be done in tandem to save you one anesthesia session.
What are my options if Juvederm Ultra XC doesn’t last in my lips?
Lip Filler duration is different from other parts of the face
Oct 1, 2019
Great question.  In general, we use fillers in the lips that can last up to 9-12 months based on studies in other parts of the face.  Based on the fact that lips have a high blood supply and they move with speaking and eating, the duration may vary.  Fillers, at a minimum,  last about 3 months in the lips; but can last up to 2 years in some patients.  If you are getting at least 3 months, you may be normally metabolizing the filler.  I would suggest trying another filler to see if you can g...
What kind of rhinoplasty would be good for me? Would I benefit from chin/cheek implants? My face is star
Recommend consulting with a board certified facial plastic and/or plastic surgeon
Jan 26, 2018
You are a candidate for rhinoplasty to refine your nasal tip and contour your nasal bridge.  In regards to the facial and neck contouring, the options include fillers, fat transfer, cheek augmentation, submental liposuction and face and neck lift.  I recommend you consult with a board certified facial plastic and/or plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and the process to achieve your goals.  You will be able to better make a decision once the options are discussed in detail.
What are standard medical procedures for facelift, upper bleph and laser?
Recommend consulting with a board certified facial plastic and/or plastic surgeon
Jan 26, 2018
Multiple procedures are commonly performed at the same time and the three procedures you listed are safe to be performed in tandem. A medical clearance is common including labs, EKG, chest xray and primary care clearance note.  The follow up varies in all practices, but is always communicated directly and clearly during your preoperative visit with your surgeon and/or patient care coordinator.
Will my nose surgery be difficult to perform? With computed tomography results
Recommend consulting with a board certified facial plastic surgeon and/or plastic surgeon
Jan 26, 2018
The nasal bones can be corrected with a rhinoplasty procedure no matter how long after a nasal trauma.  It is best to consult with a board certified facial plastic and/or plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and the process of healing.
Have ptosis from Dysport & prescription drops not helping - will it get worse?
Recommend following up with your Doctor
Jan 26, 2018
This is an unfortunate risk of dypost and botox alike.  It should not get worse, but will take its course in improving.  Fortunately, this is a temporary treatment and the ptosis and forehead will return to your pre treatment function.  It may take up to 3 months but will start to improve before that time.  Make sure your drops are iopidine just in case the incorrect drops were dispensed.
Follow-up Question: Can I fix this trauma to my nose with cosmetic surgery?
Recommend consulting with a board certified facial plastic and/or plastic surgeon
Jan 26, 2018
Rhinoplasty will be able to address your concerns of nasal deviation.  I recommend consulting with a board certified facial plastic and/or plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and the process.
Adhesions and strange intranasal structure after rhinoplasty
Recommend following up with your surgeon
Jan 26, 2018
Adhesions are common during the healing process and can be improved in the office setting by your surgeon with minimal discomfort.  Your adhesions are small and easily treatable by your surgeon.  It also appears that you underwent sinus surgery which can cause nasal swelling.  I recommend you following up with your surgeon and allow the healing process to unfold.
Will a small bump lessen the cost of rhinoplasty? Are consultations 100% free?
I recommend consulting with a board certified facial plastic and/or plastic surgeon
Jan 26, 2018
1.  Insurance may help for the breathing portion - I recommend consulting with your surgeon and patient care coordinator about this option.  Insurance will not cover cosmetic portions of the surgery.2  Fillers may help with camouflaging the hump and straightening the nose but will not improve breathing.3.  Financing is available at most surgical offices.  It is best for you to consult with a few surgeons and compare your options.
Can I get the blue sutures taken (rhinoplasty) out after 3 weeks?
Recommend following up with your surgeon
Jan 26, 2018
Typically sutures are removed after the first week.  However, it is best to ask these specific questions to your surgeon and follow the recommendations based on these discussions.
Can you do primary rhinoplasty, upper lip augmentation & eyelid surgery at the same time? Would a year o
Combined procedures are typically safe
Jan 26, 2018
You are able to combine procedures to be performed at the same time.  The positives are that you undergo anesthesia once and the healing times are typically similar for many facial procedures resulting in one healing process.  Lip enhancement may be performed with fillers or fat.  Also, a lip lift procedure may be necessary.  I recommend consulting with a board certified facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon.
How soon can I return to work after my facelift, neck and eyes?
Returning to work and exercise
Jan 26, 2018
Typically after most surgeries, it is best to not lift anything more than 25 pounds for 3 weeks.  Also, it is important to follow the recommendations of your surgeon.  In most cases, patients can return to work around the 2nd week depending on the job and need for heavy lifting.
Is my nose one that is easily corrected through rhinoplasty?
Recommend consulting with a board certified surgeon
Jan 23, 2017
A nasal reshaping procedure may assist you in your goals.  I recommend you consulting with a board certified facial plastic and/or plastic surgeon to discuss the options including straightening of the nose, refining the nasal tip and harmonizing the dorsum with your tip.  Also, it is important you both discuss expectations and limitations before a procedure.
