How Much Does a Facelift Cost?
Facelift cost
Oct 19, 2018
Thanks for your question.  The cost of a facelift procedure can be quite variable based on geography, surgeon, anesthesia fees, and if there are other concurrent procedures.  It is important to note that many patients who are good candidates for facelifting would also benefit from other procedures.  Facelift surgery is great at lifting and suspending tissue that has fallen with age, but volume restoration skin treatment are also very important to restoring youth.  As such, my to appr...
Is 7 months too soon for a revision rhinoplasty?
Timing of revision rhinoplasty
Oct 19, 2018
I am very sorry to hear about your experience.  As others have mentioned rhinoplasty can be a difficult operation, and there is a know revision rate of around 3-5%.  While it is understandably frustrating to have wait for correction, at least 12 months is recommended.  This is truly with your best interest in mind, as operating sooner decreases the chance of success, and the need for a 3rd surgery!.  The nose continues to change over the first year, and going in for revision too early can...
How Much Does Rhinoplasty Cost?
Rhinoplasty cost
Oct 19, 2018
Thanks for your question.  There are many factors that contribute to the cost of rhinoplasty.  This may include any previous surgery (revision), anesthesia preferences, and the complexity of the procedure.  Each nose needs to be approached individually.  That being said, the average cost of rhinoplasty is between $5,000 and $10,000.  I will reiterate what others have said in that your comfort level in the surgeon, their experience with this procedure, as well as their aesthetic taste ...
Are there any doctors who offer Permalip in Omaha, Nebraska? Or near?
Lip Implants
Sep 13, 2018
Miemmi402,      We do this procedure often at our office.  We have found it to be a great option in the right patient.  The permalip is a very natural implant while still giving adequate augmentation.  This procedure can be done under local anesthesia in the office, and is both permanent, but also removable if needed.  Thanks,Dr. Harbison
Why is my eyebrow higher than the other? What can I do about it?
Brow asymmetry
Apr 2, 2018
Simon8888,       Thanks for your question.  It is important to note that most people have a some degree of facial asymmetry.  The eyebrow asymmetry is definitely treatable.  It is important to get a good consultation as the eyebrows are dynamic structures, and they need to be visualized in person.  Likely the simplest place to start would be placing some botox above the more elevated brow.  You can also get a mild lift in the other brow with some botox as well.  If the problem worsens, or bo...
What type of treatment will fix my the loose skin on my neck?
Neck skin tightening
Apr 2, 2018
Cheli805,      Thanks for your question.  The submental area that are you concerned with can be treated in several ways.  It is important to determine if excess adipose tissue or skin laxity is the problem (it can be both).  At 38, it’s unlikely that skin laxity is your biggest problem, (although an exam would be needed to say for sure).  Kybella is one option to reduce the fat in the region.  My preferred treatment of choice is ProLipo Plus (laser assisted liposuction).  This has the a...
Why is my forehead like this?
Forehead contouring.
Apr 2, 2018
Thanks for you question.  From your photos it appears you have bony excess above the eyebrows, this is very common, especially in males.  Infrequently this can be due to a benign growth of the underlying bone, which is why it is best to get some imaging studies to ensure the depth of the bone and health of the underlying sinus.  The surgery is an outpatient procedure and generally involves incisions hiddine in the hairline with dissection and thinning of the bone.
Forehead Reduction? Am I a candidate? I still want to be able to wear my hair in a bun.
Forehead reduction
Mar 31, 2018
Thanks for the question.  From the photo it looks like you would be a great candidate for forehead reduction surgery.  This is done with a careful incision within the hairline to help bring the hairline down.    Often a small hair transplant procedure will help disguise the incision more if needed.  It is important to get a good exam as certain alopecias (traction, scarring) need to be ruled out before making a firm recommendation for surgery.  Good luck.
How long will it take for the fat donor area to heal?
Fat donor site
Mar 31, 2018
Thanks for the question.   The donor area is commonly red and tender for a short time after harvesting.  There may even be some slight bruising.  The redness and tenderness should go down writhin a week or so.  Some overlying skin laxity may last longer.  If you notice increasing redness, pain, or drainage make sure to inform your surgeon right away.
I had mandible contouring on one side. It's been a week. Although there is swelling, the underneath s
Jaw reduction recovery
Mar 31, 2018
Thanks for the question.  You are still very early in the recovery process.  Although the incision is small, shaving and deducting bone can create some significant swelling that typically takes weeks to months to fully resolve.  Additionally there may be come sutures and healing of the overlying muscle and soft tissues that will take several more weeks to subside.  Make sure to be patient, and keep your surgeon informed of any concerns.
Rhinoplasty, 8 weeks post-op. Will this part of my bridge continue to thin out? Should I re-tape? Try
Healing after rhinoplasty
Mar 31, 2018
TomMP2,       Thanks for your question.  8 weeks out is still fairly early in the healing process, and this is a common area to have some prolonged edema, especially when osteotomies are performed.  So it is too early to say.  Only Time will tell at this point. As far as taping, I haven’t found this too be beneficial, but check with your surgeon for any post op care concerns.  Good luck.
Getting rid of masculine looking nose and chin/jaw?
Nasal and chin surgery
Mar 31, 2018
Thanks for the question.  There are a number of things that can be done to “soften” the facial features that are bothering you.  Your nasal concerns would best be addressed with a rhinoplasty.  A good exam and formal photographs are needed to give accurate recommendations but it looks like addressing the your columellar show and the convexity of the nasal dorsum would likely be helpful.  Chin surgery is often done at the same time. An overprojected chin can be due to bone, excess soft tissue...
How long does a facelift usually take?
Facelift duration
Dec 30, 2017
Sigh898,     Thanks for the question.  The duration of a facelift can be quite variable.  There are many factors that go into this.  The largest is that not all facelifts are the same.  Deep plane, mini lifts, SMAS plication area all examples of different procedures.  Additionally there is a variability among surgeons (as is the case for all surgeries).  Lastly, the type of anesthesia used may affect time, as those done under local/IV sedation may require more time to properly anesthetize th...
Mottled pigment post laser? 1 year post Sciton.
Post laser pigmentation
Dec 30, 2017
Run778,     Thanks for your question. From the photos it does look like you may have developed some hyperpigmentation after the laser, although an in person exam would be needed to say for sure.  If that is the case, you have several options.  I would get started on a skin regimen to help prevent further hyperpigmentation (hydroquinone, regular SPF, etc).  Also IPL treatments can be very helpful for treating this as well, although would not eliminate the need for good skin care and UV prote...
I had to much fat removed under my eyes. Is micro fat crafting an option? Will it say even?
Fat grafting under the eyes
Dec 30, 2017
Manolio,      Thanks for the question.  Yes, fat graft can be performed in this area and is frequently done.  Certain patients are better candidates for this procedure, but certainly if there has been overresection of your lower eyelid fat this may be a good treatment choice to replace some volume to the area.  As you have alluded to, the survivability of the fat can be tricky, but generally asymmetry is not a frequent issue with proper technique.  You may also consider a trial of fillers ...
