What treatment does my face need in order to look younger?
Need photos
Aug 28, 2020
Hello, I appreciate your question and it mimics what all of my patient say every single day. However, everybody is different. People have different facial anatomy and structure and people age in different ways. I do not see any photos attached to your question so I really can’t answer. Please resubmit a question with photographs And I’ll be happy to give you some suggestions. Thank you
Botox versus brow lift. Can you achieve same results?
Botox versus brow lift
Aug 28, 2020
I imagine you’ll get lots of different responses to this. My skill set as a facial plastic surgeon utilizes both of these tools all the time. I inject people’s forehead every day, and it is an excellent way to smooth lines and subtly impact brow position with very little risk. Brow lift is one of my favorite surgeries, and I advocate it frequently. There is no way that Botox can achieve the same thing as well-done brow lift. I use the brow lift surgery to remove excess skin of the for…
Will fillers help the look of under eye hollowness if injected in cheeks?
Cheek filler will help but not rectify the problem
Aug 28, 2020
Hello and thank you for your question. Cheek filler will raise the cheek a little and bring the skin forward which will make light bounce off the area of hollow and make it look less extreme. This is a trick that I use all the time. But what will truly fix your problem is a lower lid transconjunctival blepharoplasty to remove fat that’s pushing forward onto the back side of the eyelid. The reason you have an apparent “hollow” is because the area underneath this fat is not getting enoug…
Do I need undereye fillers to fill-in hollowness?
Under eye hollows
Aug 25, 2020
Hello, and thank you for your question. I would be able to give you a more certain response if your photographs showed you from further away and also showed you on profile so that I could see your cheek in comparison to your lower lid. Part of the shadowing that you see in your lower eyelid is caused by fat underneath the skin pushing forward causing a bulge. Underneath that bulge is a shadow. People have an instinct want to erase that shadow and seek to do so by adding filler. If you raise…
What are some suggestions to fix droopy jowls and flat face appearance and restore a more youthful
Loose skin
Aug 13, 2020
Hello, and thank you for your question. In my opinion, the neck skin and lower cheek/jowl skin needs to be re-draped into a higher position. When you do that, the skin will look smoother and tighter, no longer baggy. This is performed with a lower face and neck lift. The surgery can be performed with oral sedation and local numbing in my hands. The results are not temporary. Your skin will be in a new position for the rest of your life and that position will not “wear off” with time. You wil…
How can I tell if I have a deviated septum? Recommended I get a septorhinoplasty.
Septorhinoplasty
Aug 13, 2020
In a septorhinoplasty, a portion of the cartilage that makes the septum is harvested or taken away from you. It’s used as the source to rebuild your nasal tip or to help straighten your nose. I harvest cartilage from those every single time. It doesn’t matter whether they have had a septal deviation or not. If they’ve already had their septal cartilage removed in a septoplasty, then I have to use rib cartilage. If a patient does have a septal deviation, I will harvest the cartilage to do my…
Would lip filler help my angular cheilitis?
Lip filler is not the answer
Aug 9, 2020
Thank you for your question. The only time lip filler would be suitable in such case is in an older patient with down turning corners of the mouth and trenches that divert spit downward Which can keep the skin chronically wet. But this is not the treatment for you. I would look at nutritional deficiency deficiencies or immune deficiencies. I would look for iron deficiency, anemia, vitamin D deficiencies, B12 deficiencies, protein deficiencies, elevated blood sugar, insulin resistance, maybe…
I feel like my eyes are different shape and along with my eyebrows. I don’t know if I need blepharo
Neither
Aug 7, 2020
Hello, thank you for your question. In my opinion, I do not see an indication for a brow lift nor a blepharoplasty. What I see is that you have ptosis of both eyelids which makes your eyelids sit lower than the ideal position. It is not uncommon for one to be slightly different than the other which can make your eyes look different from each other. Your lash line (The very bottom of your upper eyelid where the eyelashes exit the skin) should be seated at the top of your iris. A ptosis repair…
Would filler help my face look less giant/different when smiling?
Filler is not the answer
Aug 7, 2020
Hello, and thank you for your question. Filler fills like a water balloon. Filler makes things bigger. That’s its reason for being. When you smile, the fullness you’re seeing in the bottom part of your cheek is caused by, in part, the buccal fat pad. The surgery can be performed to remove the buckle fat pad which can make your cheeks a little slimmer in the bottom part. Best of luck to you and have a great day!
Can Botox fix my weird oral commissure?
Not sure if Botox is the answer
Aug 7, 2020
Hello, and thank you for your question. The only photo I have is of you smiling. When I look at the right oral commissary with you smiling, my instinct is to perform the surgery to make the top and the bottom match to get it more closely mimicking your left side. There is a bit of a gap between the top and the bottom on the right. But, you say that your mouth moves differently on the right than the left when you move. Therefore, I would really need to see you in person and see what the…
One of my eyes looks like it has been rotated. Is there any “fix” to this?
One eye sits higher than the other
Aug 7, 2020
Hello, and thank you for your question. I’m not sure what you mean by “rotated”, so I will simply tell you what I see. What I see is that your right eye is sitting in a slightly higher position than your left eye. Assuming that you have probably been this way all of your life, this would not be abnormal. If you think of a bony skull, picture the two spaces called eye sockets where the eyeball sits. The eyeball sits on a padding a fat and muscle, and the fat is resting on the bone. Where…
Will an upper and lower eye surgery help me look more awake and improve the appearance of my eyes?
In short, yes
Aug 7, 2020
Hello, and thank you for your question! The things that are contributing to making your eyes look tired are as follows. 1) You have upper eyelid ptosis. This is probably something that you were born with. Your eyelid margin sits closer to your pupil than would be the ideal position. The ideal position in the youthfuI eye is for the “lash line”, which is the bottom part of your eyelid where eyelashes exit the skin, to sit at the top of the iris which is the round colored part. When the eye…
Can you get lower eyelid surgery after fillers?
Fillers before transconjunctival blepharoplasty
Aug 7, 2020
Hello, and thank you for your question. Having fillers done right now will not impair a transconjunctival blepharoplasty in a couple of years at all. Feel free. Please allow me to recommend that you get your blepharoplasty before your lower eyelid skin starts to age. (say, before the age of 40). If you wait until you are older, your skin will not be elastic enough to contract in and it may require an external excision to remove excess skin Or laser resurfacing to tighten the skin. This is a…

Ptosis
Aug 7, 2020
Hello! Without seeing a photograph, a proper assessment cannot be done. But in all likelihood, it sounds like you have ptosis. The lash line is the lowest part of your eyelid, Where the hair of your eyelashes exits the skin. When the lash line sits down lower than it should, close to your pupil, a surgery can be performed (called a ptosis repair, some people call it an eyelid lift) to raise the eyelid back up to the proper position which is closer to the top of the iris or the round colored…

Malar grooves
Aug 7, 2020
The depressions that you are seeing on your cheeks are called malar grooves. There is a tough band of tissue which we referr to as a “ligament” that spans from your skin down to the bone in that spot . Everybody has this, but in some people, this band is tighter and produces more of a depression. Where is depressed, shadow was caught and it’s the shadow that Roger guy. Where is depressed, shadow is caught and it’s the shadow that catches your eye. It’s not the easiest thing to fix. Most peop…
