Dr. Paun earned his MBBS from the University of London before pursuing highly specialized fellowships. Dr Paun became a specialist on the GMC register in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery in the United Kingdom.

He then completed a prestigious fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery, during which he received advanced training at Amsterdam’s Academic Medical Clinic, Adamson Cosmetic Facial Surgery Clinic in Toronto, and Harvard’s prestigious Massachusetts Eye and Ear teaching hospital, respectively.

Throughout more than 20 years in practice, Dr. Paun has frequently been called upon to lend his expertise in rhinoplasty to the press, as well as to future and current physicians. He is an honorary lecturer at Queen Mary’s University, where he teaches students in addition to performing clinical research on aesthetic reconstruction and rhinoplasty.

Dr. Paun is a highly sought-after speaker and he travels as much as he can—both within the United Kingdom and internationally—to speak at surgical conferences and meetings, sharing his insight with other discerning rhinoplasty surgeons. Doctors from around the world travel to Dr. Paun’s clinic to observe his meticulous work and natural-looking results.

Within the NHS, Dr. Paun was the former head of department at St. Bartholomew’s and one of the United Kingdom’s largest and most distinguished teaching hospital trusts. He still works at these hospitals today, where he performs his most complex cases.

Because Dr. Paun undertakes complex revision rhinoplasties, he is referred to patients from other surgeons from the London area and across Britain.

Dr. Paun’s exceptional work has earned him multiple honors, including being named the best nose surgeon in the UK in Tatler’s 2018 cosmetic surgery guide and the esteemed Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.

9 months post op, developing poly beak deformity? What can I do?
Thick skin
Jun 21, 2021
Thicker skin always takes longer to settle fully – the shrinkwrapping that occurs post op is slower and less complete. You have a little fullness in the supratip area rather than a real pollybeak. The first thing to consider is injection of steroid into this region which may well settle this down. Steroid injections are most effective sooner rather than later in the healing process so I would suggest seeking advice from your original surgeon about this as an option.
L shaped nose implant protruding. Treatment options?
Get someone to check the nose asap
Jun 21, 2021
Implants in the nose can be problematic many years post op. They can protrude as in your case, potentially cause infections and then as the skin thins, even extrude out through the skin. Unfortunately I have had to remove many in the last year alone. The important thing is to get some good advice from a surgeon experienced with dealing with implant issues. If the implant is not getting infected, it may be fine to leave alone but probably needs close monitoring to ensure it is not getting too…
Revision rhinoplasty- 6 weeks before wedding. Is that enough time for the swelling to go down
Too close to the wedding! (Probably)
Jun 21, 2021
I understand you believe you are having only minor changes but actually it is the lifting of the skin to access the tip and bridge of the nose that causes swelling. It depends a little on the thickness of your skin as to how quickly things will settle post op but 6 weeks is a little too close for comfort. Personally I advise 6 months minimum to have surgery before a “life event”. I have had one patient who attended a famous awards ceremony (unbeknown to me before I operated on her) 2 months…
Can you have a rhinoplasty after lip lift?
Lip lift and rhinoplasty
May 23, 2021
Yes – there is no contraindication to having both procedures. Get some good advice with a responsible rhinoplasty surgeon about your concerns but there generally should be no reasons why you cannot proceed.
What parts of my nose need to be improved?
Seek good advice
May 23, 2021
Its always difficult advising by just looking at photos and so seek a good professional opinion by seeing someone face to face to discuss your concerns.
Whilst I am happy to advise my patients, I always seek their concerns first. At the end of the day, it is your nose and you need to be aware of what it is you specifically dislike. Of course, a surgeon, may point things out but should not influence what you desire. Digital imaging (morphing) programmes may help but ultimately spend some time…
Is it possible to alter the tip/bridge of the nose without changing the side profile with a r
Profile changes
May 23, 2021
In simple terms, yes! You can alter the width of the nose and the alar base region without altering the profile significantly if this what you desire. It is important you discuss your specific concerns with your surgeon and make clear you don’t want profile change.
Most surgeons should have a digital imaging system that this discussion could be based around but clearly, it is important to explore all options as subtle profile changes may suit without risking the “button nose” as you put it!…
Does bifid nasal tip get worse with age?
Bifid tip
May 23, 2021
Bifidity of the tip cartilages does not necessarily change with age. There are some tip changes that can occur – usually a degree of drooping so there may be some related change. The tip drops as some of the support mechanisms that hold it up weaken with age and gravity also takes its toll!. There can also be some thinning of skin which may make the underlying tip cartilages look more visible.
So you may seem some difference to the tip but it wont specifically be more bifidity but the…
