Ideally, one should be within 10-15 lbs of their realistically targeted weight prior to a facelift procedure. This will maximize the likelihood of long-term satisfaction with the result, as further volume loss in the face can be associated with possible skin laxity and associated changes. For individuals undergoing bariatric surgery, I recommend weight stabilization after their weight-reduction procedure prior to having any type of facelift.

A SMAS Lift in and of itself will not address the temporal area. Options include using filler in that area, or a temporal lift.
