Can you get implants if you have already had dentures?

Yes, we are actually experts in restoring patients with dentures and no bone. The procedure is generally accomplished is just one day. Patient who have minimal bone are easily restore with an implant known as a zygoma implant. In the US there a very few oral and maxillofacial surgeons trained in the procedure. Hope this helps.

Yes, almost everyone is a candidate in our office. Generally, patients with minimal bone on the upper jaw can have an implant placed in the check bone to support the teeth. It is the most cost effective solution to replace missing teeth

This is a great question. Majority of dental implants placed today are made of a grey metal called titanium. These implants have a success rate from 85-95 %. However, there is an alternative material called zirconia. This is a white colored material. In some cases this may be a better implant for certain patients

This is a great question. In general it depends on how well the plates hold the bones together. In my practice we will usually place rubber band and try to plan for the plates and screws to be placed in strong bone.

In our practice most patients with poor bone and gums are still able to get dental implants and restorations in one day. We have many patients with severe bone loss that are able to have a special implant placed and avoid months of grafting.

Your best option in jaw surgery. Without it you also have a risk for Obstructive Sleep Apnea in the future. There are a lot of good Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons in Texas that do the procedure.
