Blue Light Therapy Price?
Is blue light treatment ever covered by insurance?
Mar 24, 2019
Yes it is. If you have biopsy proven actinic keratosis, which is a pre-malignant skin lesion, then it is likely the PDT treatment will be partially covered by your health insurance plan.
Best Treatment for Actinic Keratoses, Fine Lines, and Sun Damage?
Best Treatment for Actinic Keratoses, Fine Lines, and Sun Damage?
Mar 24, 2019
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a great choice to
treat your problem. It will not only treat pre-malignant lesions such asactinic keratoses, including those that are not visible, but also can improveage related wrinkles.
Will Redness After Photodynamic Therapy Resolve on Its Own?
Will Redness After Photodynamic Therapy Resolve on Its Own?
Mar 24, 2019
The reaction from PDT can vary from patient to patient. The redness typically will resolve on its own. In your case, this severe reaction could mean that it will take a few more months for the redness to resolve completely. On the bright side, one benefit of such an intense reaction is could be the improvement of any age-related wrinkles.
How long after receiving photodynamic therapy will the reaction appear?
How long after receiving photodynamic therapy will the reaction appear?
Mar 24, 2019
The skin reaction will occur within 48 hrs. The intensity of the reaction will vary from person to person. Make sure you are not exposed to any outside light for the full 48 hours after the procedure or you will experience some significant pain.
How to Transfer Fat from Belly to my Hips and Butt?
How to Transfer Fat from Belly to my Hips and Butt?
Mar 24, 2019
Large volume fat transfer for buttocks augmentation is very popular at this time and can be performed safely. Make sure you choose a plastic surgeon who does this procedure frequently. Some people caution that this trend or fad of having a large, full behind may not be considered aesthetically pleasing in the future. Also, after menopause in some patients, there is a concern that the transferred fat may grow abnormally. You should also consider the risks involved (such as death from fat emb…
Fat Transfer for Under Eye Hollows
Fat Transfer for Under Eye Hollows
Mar 24, 2019
Fat grafting to the area of the lower eyelids does work if done correctly. It can also be permanent. Caution must be exercised to avoid over filling, and to avoid serious complications such as loss of vision.
Overfilled from fat transfer. What are my options?
Overfilled from fat transfer. What are my options?
Mar 24, 2019
If it has only been 2 weeks since the procedure was performed, the swelling will still recede with some more time. Additionally, depending on the technique of the fat grafting that was used, a large percentage of the fat transfer may also resorb. The safest thing for you to do is to wait 6 weeks or so and then reassess. It is difficult to be more specific without knowing more details.
Can a Mole Be Removed Without Leaving a Scar?
Can a Mole Be Removed Without Leaving a Scar?
Mar 24, 2019
Sometimes. If the mole is raised and flesh toned, I will perform a shave excision followed by low energy cautery. This typically results in no scarring, with a small chance of recurrence. There is always a small risk of a noticeable scar anytime the skin is incised.
Mole Removal for Slightly Raised Facial Mole?
Mole Removal for Slightly Raised Facial Mole?
Mar 24, 2019
Usually I will perform a shave excision followed by low energy cautery. This typically results in no scarring, with a small chance of recurrence. Any time the skin is incised there is a small risk if getting a bad scar. The risks in your particular case would be assessed by your doctor.

Do you place drains after a full facelift?
Drains with a facelift
Nov 25, 2018
I don’t typically use drains with my facelift patients. Performing the surgery while the patient’s blood pressure is near their normal state and being very careful to cauterize even the smallest of bleeders will typically prevent any bleeding issues after the procedure and a drain will not be required. If a particular patient seems to be a little ” oozey ” I will put drains in and take them out the next day to minimize any bruising. Drains can’t prevent a hematoma.
Facelift Recovery
Recovery after a face lift.
Nov 25, 2018
Usually after 10 days or so the majority of the swelling is gone, and with some makeup and strategic hair styling you should be able to go out in public without getting any funny looks. Occasionally the bruising can be intense and may take 3 to 4 weeks to resolve.
How Long After a Facelift Can I Color my Hair?
Coloring hair after a facelift
Nov 25, 2018
I recommend waiting 4 – 6 weeks to make sure the incisions have healed completely so the dye chemicals don’t cause any irritation. If you still have some scabs in some areas of the incisions I would wait.
Liposuction Swelling – How Long Until It Goes Down?
swelling after liposuction
Nov 25, 2018
It usually takes 3 to 6 months for ALL the swelling to go down after liposuction. You may see an accelerated reduction in the swelling and hardness between 8 and 12 weeks.
Are there any liposuction alternative procedures?
Liposuction Alternatives
Nov 25, 2018
Recovery from traditional tumescent liposuction is pretty quick, and this method will definitely remove fat. Rarely do the ” nonsurgical alternatives ” to a traditional surgical procedure live up to the promised results. Chemical treatments to dissolve fat and cryolipolysis are not as consistently reliable as traditional liposuction, and you may need several treatment sessions which may cost more than a single treatement of tumescent liposuction.
