Answer Snippet
What kind of lift do I need?
Breast Lift
Apr 30, 2019
Thank you for your question and photos. You appear to be a good candidate for a traditional “anchor” type breast lift. This will lift your breasts and give them a more youthful appearance.
Hole under my breast after breast lift. Will this go away on its own?
Breast Lift Wound
Apr 30, 2019
Thank you for your question. The area where all the scars meet in a breast lift is a common place for wound breakdown. This typically heals with local wound care. I recommend you follow up with your surgeon so he may evaluate you in person. Best of luck.
Conflicting opinions on wearing a bra? Please advise
Breast Lift and Bra
Apr 30, 2019
Thank you for your question and photos. I encourage my patients to wear a bra for the first 3 months following surgery while they are healing. After 3 months I allow my patients to go braless if they desire. Every surgeon has their own protocol, I recommend you discuss this with yours. Best of luck.
I have a small umbilical hernia as well as diastasis recti. What are my best options?
Mini Tummy Tuck
Mar 14, 2019
Thank you for your question. A mini tummy tuck is your best option to address your small hernia and rectus diastasis. This can be performed through your previous c-section scar. Best of luck.
I’m 3 weeks post op tummy tuck with lipo. Does this look like I need a revision?
Tummy Tuck
Mar 14, 2019
Thank you for your question and photos. Without a before picture or examining you in person it is difficult to give you an answer to your question. The photo you provided does not appear to be a normal postoperative photo from a tummy tuck. I recommend discussing this with your surgeon. Best of luck.
What went wrong with my abdominoplasty? 5 weeks post op.
Plastic Surgeon
Mar 14, 2019
I recommend consulting with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss your concerns. General surgeons are not trained in body contouring procedures.
Will my belly ever go flat?
Tummy Tuck
Mar 14, 2019
Thank you for your question and photos. You are still very early in the healing process following surgery. The majority of swelling subsides by 3 months, but some swelling may last 12 months. Continue to wear your compression garment and follow your surgeon’s postoperative instructions. Best of luck.
fleur-de-lis abdominoplasty vs traditional? Which would give me the best results?
Dr Crantford
Mar 14, 2019
Thank you for your question and photos. A traditional tummy tuck will address your excess skin and rectus diastasis. There is no need for the additional scaring with a FDL abdominoplasty.
I am one month post tummy tuck with plication. Are ab exercises a bad idea at this point?
Abs
Mar 14, 2019
Every surgeon has their own recommended postoperative protocol. That being said I do not advise patients to perform any type of abdominal exercises or strenuous activity for at least 6 weeks. Doing so before this risks unwanted complications. Best of luck.
Will the lipoma on my scalp be able to permanently removed?
Lipoma
Mar 14, 2019
Thank you for question. Lipomas can typically be removed under local anesthesia and permanently. Best of luck.
Can Buccal fat pad removal go wrong?
Complications
Mar 14, 2019
Thank you for your question. Any time you have surgery there are associated risks. Buccal fat reduction is a relatively safe procedure with a low incidence of complications. The possible complications include asymmetry, swelling, nerve injury, parotid duct injury and infection. I recommend consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss your concerns. Best of luck.
What type of surgery do I need to correct the nipple size?
Asymmetry
Mar 14, 2019
Thank you for your question and photo. In order to correct the asymmetry of your areolas you need an areola reduction. This local procedure will ensure your areolas are the same size, it will not fix the discoloration. Best of luck.
Does this wound appear to be infected after breast reduction?
Wound Breakdown
Mar 14, 2019
Thank you for your question and photo. It appears you have an area of wound dehiscence, this is typically treated with local wound care. I recommend following up with your plastic surgeon to ensure this is the case. Best of luck.
Belly button and incision leaking 3 weeks post op tummy tuck and back lipo. Advice?
Postop
Jan 3, 2019
Thank you for your question and photos. You appear to have delayed healing of you belly button and central incision. I recommend following up closely with your surgeon so he/she may manage this issue. You will need local wound care to help heal these areas and ensure they do not become infected. You may need a scar revision in the future. Best of luck.
Tummy tuck fluid building up, is it a seroma?
Seroma
Jan 3, 2019
Thank you for your question and photo. It appears as though you have a seroma. You will most likely need serial aspirations in order to resolve this issue. If left untreated this may lead to a poor cosmetic result, incision breakdown or infection. I recommend consulting with a plastic surgeon in your area to address this. Best of luck.
