Statement: As a specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery, I was head of the Department of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Malteser Hospital in Bonn until 2019. In order to have more time for you as patient and your plastic surgery concerns again, I now care for you in my private practice for plastic and aesthetic surgery in Cologne.

After intensive training in all areas of plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, I specialized in body contouring and breast surgery. One of my main focuses is the treatment of lipedema by gentle WAL liposuction on the arms and legs. As a transition to my private practice, I completed two years of special training in facial plastic and aesthetic surgery at the Trinity Hospital in Wesseling, Germany, on the side.

I am scientifically active as a member of the International Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), the world’s largest society of plastic surgery specialists, as well as the Austrian and German Societies for Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery.
You will find my numerous published articles and book chapters later on this page, as well as an excerpt of my invited lectures at national and international congresses.

After graduating from medical school in Graz in 2004, I completed my training at the medical universities in Vienna, Innsbruck and Graz. Afterwards I worked as a senior physician at the University Hospital in Graz for three more years before I moved to Bonn and became chief physician.

As Chair of the Residents & Fellows Committee of ISAPS, I have been particularly involved in the education of younger colleagues and have established special programs, such as “Visit an ISAPS expert” and “ISAPS mentoring” for residents and associate members of this society, which is now open to residents in training.

I would recommend Medical Needling, maybe in combination with fat stamp, which gives even better results. Medical Needling also needs to be done several times, to get a desirable result. Another option could be injection of Biostimulators, like Radiesse.

For the scarring behind the ear I would recommend medical needling, you can do a combination with Laser as well. For the perioral area you need additional treatments for the skin and soft tissue as well. My suggestion again, a series of medical needling together with maybe PRP, soft tissue fillers like hyaluronic acid or biostimulators like Calcium-Hydroxylapatit. Middle depth peeling can work as well.

Hello Genjam, your pictures show a nice and normal perioral situation. If people get older, the upper lips elongate and show no teeth when smiling. For those we can offer an upper lip lift (bullhorn), but your upper lips are not too long. If we would shorten it, a gummy smile could be the result, which people often do not like. Your face is beautiful as it is.

You should see an eye specialist to check the muscle function of your levator muscle. If you have a ptosis, this can be corrected by shortening of the muscle, so that it can elevate the lid again. This is a tricky operation which needs a lot of experience, that it is enough, but not too much. You should look for an experiences oculoplastic surgeon.
