Name: J. Smythe Rich, MD
Statement: I feel so fortunate for the training I received and the refinement many years of practice and teaching has afforded me. I knew that working with the face was something that is a little harder than other areas, but with continued focus, high success can be found.

I feel most people would rather look a little tired or less than perfect, rather than looking silly or overcorrected. I try to find how little it takes to create or restore confidence in one’s appearance. To be given someone’s trust with their appearance shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Personally, seeing the glow of new confidence in a patient is the greatest joy for me.

Is it worth getting my deviated septum repaired?
Septal deviation
Dec 29, 2020
The key here isn’t if you would benefit from a slightly difficult septoplasty but how to do this without insurance in an era when the hospital cost normally exceeds $30,000. Most facilities offer self pay rates that are negotiated. Here costs are less than $2000. The surgery must maintain support of the tip of your nose while moving it to midline to open both sides for breathing. This makes it slightly like a rhinoplasty but skilled ENT surgeons are capable as well as others specializing in…
I think I have a weak chin and double chin. Should I do Kybella or chin fillers?
Chin augmentation
Jul 9, 2020
If you speak to a qualified surgeon they will definitely suggest a chin implant. Perfect..permanent..and rare problems. You will spend much more and have less effect with injectables. The perception of fat under your chin is just redundant unsupported tissue that would disappear with a stronger jaw line.

What can I do for my heavy mouth corners, not marionette lines? I’m hoping for something that would
Recessive chin leads to mouth changes
Jul 9, 2020
The common answers of botox for the depressor muscle or filler will be brief and partially correct the concern. A correctly sized chin augmentation will release the ligaments pulling the corners of the mouth down and more importantly produce a better jawline. This is permanent and rarely but easily removed.
Good luck

When does swelling go away after closed nasal reduction fracture? And can I get my old nose back aft
nasal fracture
Nov 20, 2019
Nasal fracture closed reduction is the best attempt to improve the shape and function of the nose by pushing and pulling the bones before they set in place. Since not cuts are made little swelling is seen. Some swelling will be possible but resolve with in a week or 2. The final shape many take months to a year often later revealing imperfection hidden by the fullness. Cartledge components are difficult because they will not snap back into place. Those fractures require time for healing/…
I had an under eye CO2 Fraxel treatment 10/31/18 and did not see any result. It’s now 4 months later

As far as results from resurfacing…there are no free lunches. Quick recovery means little skin insult or little visible effects. It could have been the power settings or number of passes. Of course the pictures being published are the Doctors very beat results.
