I have not examined you, but you look like a great candidate. I would be open with your plastic surgeon regarding size, and also take into account the smallest size you could be with preserving blood flow to the nipple, as safety of the surgery always comes first. Hi and thank you so much for your great question! This is one of the most common questions I am asked in my practice. As part of an abdominoplasty, the diastasis is repaired, where I identify where the abdominal muscles are seperated and use strong stitches to bring the muscles back together along the center of your abdomen. This is because I want the scar tissue that forms from the muscle repair to become stronger than the sutures that were placed in the operation to repair the muscle diastasis.
