Thank you for your question!! If you pull out family pictures you’ll likely see the resemblance somewhere. These concerns can be easily addressed however! Most patients benefit from two or three procedures. The definite procedure that would benefit you would be a chin implant to augment chin projections and this would be combined with liposuction and possibly a platysmaplasty to redefine the neck and jaw. The other procedure that you should at least consider before m…

Thank you so much for your question. As one of the most frequently performed cosmetic surgeries worldwide, eyelid surgery is also one with the smallest amount of down time. On average eyelid patients will be out of work 3-7 days depending on how you want to be viewed in the work place.
There are a few tips or tricks you can use to minimize this down time. 1) Ice after surgery aids to minimize brusing and swelling 2) Consider a homeopathic like Arnica Montana to…

Thank you so much for your question. The only thing scientifically validated to improve scarring is silicone strips which are self adherent. Everything else to my knowledge is anecdotal. I do offer all my patients laser resurfacing of their scars. It’s rare someone takes me up on It but it cab dramatically reduce any perceived scars.

Thank you so much for your question! Profound is the new and improved E-prime and yes the name is much better as well!! I have seen so many Ulthera patients that have not been happy with their treatments and I will try to explain why here. Ulthera has the right idea. Radiofrequency is wonderful modality to treat the aging face non surgically. The problem with Ulthera is that dermal application is painful and it cant penetrate deep enough to create the…

Thank you so much for your question! While these two technologies seem similar (and they are) there are some major differences. While both are non-surgical skin tightening devices, the Depth and Duration is much greater in the Profound RF device. Profound extends up to 6 mm and can be used for cellulite and fat reduction in the SubQ mode. This requires a little bit more down time but as mentioned (and not to sound cliche) leaves the patient with a…

The “bull horn” lip lift is a great procedure to creating more pink mucosal show to the lip. Both deep and skin sutures are used when I perform this lift. It is skin only and the muscles aren’t affected. For my most discerning patients I even offer lasering of the incision 2-3 months post surgery which makes it even less imperceptible! I hope that helps!

No one can say for sure but the likely hood is no. I have injected a fair amount of kybella but have moved away from it in favor of other non Surgical modalities. The kybella studies that resulted in many of the advertised models you see had 2-3 vials in 3-6 treatments. I personally don’t feel this is a great use of patients money. If you have the funds and are willing to pay up to 6 times then i’d say sure go for it. I just don’t like to Over promise and Under…

Deep plane lifts per the literature pose higher risk to the patient with minimal to no superiority over other lifts that work at the muscular layer like the SMAS lift. What I would rcommmend for you would include upper eyelid +/- brow lift, cheek implants, smas facelift and full face laser resurfacing to help with all the fine lines other people are recommending botox for. That can all be accomplished in a single surgery. I hope that helps!

Thank you for your question. This all depends on your skeletal position in relation to your teeth. Sometimes jaw surgery is indicated but in some situation something much more simple like facial implants can be a solution. I hope that helps!

Thank you so much for your questions. The thing that really differentiates the items you have mentioned is 1)type of energy and 2)depth at which the energy is applied. CO2 is a laser that is used in the dermis (think skin) to remove fine lines and wrinkles as well as provide superficial skin tightening. The majority of the other devices are radio frequency based. The majority of which deliver their energy via the skin. The thing that is unique about profound is that It…

Thank you for your question! I perform several profound treatments per week to the face, but I do have my aestheticians trained to perform body treatments. In the facial region I feel my understanding of the musculature and desired lifting vectors result in superior technique but that technique can be trained. I do feel that hyper pigmentation should be discussed as anytime you apply hear near the pigmentation forming cells they can make dark spots. I have not seen this…

Thank you for your question! I do 2-3 profound treatments a week and many of them are combined with fillers. The only caveat being I donthe filler immediately after the profound treatment and not before. It would be great if it could be done before the profound bevsuse there is zero swelling but the heat from profound could alter the filler. In some rare cases patients swell early than others (like during the actual treatment) and I will recommend…

Thank you for your question!! While skin changes aren’t unheard of after facelift surgery they usually resolve as the healing process goes on. Often times this can be do to increased facial washing and moisturizer use after surgery. In my patients who undergo laser resurfacing as well as facelift their skin may chance types several tones from dry to oily as the patient heals. If you are consistently oily now I would recommend a solid skin care regimen in prescription form that u…

That’s a great question! I allow my facelift patients to begin light exercise as early as two weeks. Returning to regular workouts by 4weeks is reasonable. The initial healing of your scars should be complete enough. Take it easy and listen to your body!!
I hope that helps.

Thank you so much for your question. When it comes to the direct neck lift men are the only patients I have ever performed this procedure on. I believe it is largely in part due to men feeling the scars around their ears or hairline are a trade off they aren’t willing to accept when compared up scars under the chin. Even when using “the Grecian urn” you will have scars under your neck. In my opinion well healed facelift incisions are less obvious than direct neck lift …
