Can you have capsule removal, breast lift and fat grafting at the same time in one surgery?
Great question.
May 26, 2023
In my practice, many patients do elect to have a breast lift when undergoing breast explant surgery. I do recommend waiting at least 6 months post explant surgery before having a fat graft to the breast. That allows for adequate healing time, increased patient safely, and a greater probability for a successful transfer.
Does Breast Implant Removal Require Breast Lift Surgery?
You often do need a lift at the time of explant surgery
May 19, 2020
I often recommend a lift at the same time as explant surgery. As the tissues become stretched and expanded with an implant over time, they often do not contract sufficiently post-operatively and need some skin removal/lifting. This will depend on many factors including the size of your implant, elasticity of your skin, amount of breast tissue, etc.
Can I play golf 6 weeks after the surgery?
Activity at 6 weeks
Apr 19, 2018
Yes. Most procedures require a recovery of 6 weeks prior to engaging in any activity that could be considered strenuous. Always be sure to discuss with your surgeon, at your post operative appointments, to make sure you are healing well, with no complications that would prolong activity.
Is it normal to have a 400cc implant completely removed and drains placed under local anesthesia?
Implant removal is possible under local anesthesia but not with a capsulectomy
Aug 16, 2017
If you are simply removing the implants and no capsule tissue, then it is very easy to do under local. If however you are having the capsule removed at the same time (which is standard of care in my practice), local would be painful for you to tolerate. Drains are usually used when the capsule is removed and not necessary when only the implants are removed. Good luck!
I have breast implants about 2 years ago, am I safe to have a tattoo over the scarring?
At two years out you should have no problem with a tattoo over the scar.
Aug 15, 2017
Your scar should be healed well enough that a tattoo at this point would not be a problem or issue. However, you might want to just run this by your plastic surgeon and have he/she take a look to clear you just prior.
Severe Asymmetry – Is it just a size difference or is one tuberous? What would be needed to fix this?
You have breast assymetry
Aug 15, 2017
Like many women do, you have asymmetrical breasts. Your best treatment option is a breast lift with a reduction on the left side. If you want to add upper pole fullness, you could consider a breast implant at the same time.
Should I be concerned with my belly button post op day 14? It seems flat and not natural. Any advice w
It is too early to tell how your belly button will look.
Aug 15, 2017
You are fairly fresh out of surgery and should wait at least a few months to determine the final outcome of your belly button. The scar can be confounding this early along with swelling.
Mother of 3, 37, married, lost 20lbs in 3 years. What procedure would be best?
You are a good candidate for a tummy tuck.
Aug 15, 2017
You are a good candidate for a tummy tuck. You should always try to go into surgery at your ideal body weight, or what you feel comfortable with. You just don’t want to gain or lose a lot of weight after surgery as it can affect your final outcome. With that being said, I think you would do great with a tummy tuck and be pretty amazed with your result!
Had Mommy Makeover 5 days ago, backed off pain meds now there is an intermittent sharp pain under Tumm
These types of pains after a tummy tuck are usually normal.
Jan 24, 2017
You will experience many stabbing, shooting, throbbing pains after a tummy tuck. 99% of the time they are normal. If it is persistent or there is swelling in that area only, you should have your doctor check you out to make sure there is not a problem.
Mommy Makeover. Should I get my breasts re-done?
You have to weight the benefits of a lift versus the permanence of the scars!
Jan 24, 2017
I would recommend holding off on a breast lift. Your nipples are in good position and you have some natural fullness to the bottom of your breasts. I don’t think it’s worth it but everyone has different goals and expectations. Good luck with your decision.
Will getting a “Mommy Makeover” be worth it? Will I get the definition I’m looking for?
A mommy makeover could be right for you.
Jan 24, 2017
Of course I’d have to examine you in person, however, based on your photos, I believe that a tummy tuck would be a nice procedure for you. It would remove your stretch marks and loose skin, tighten your muscles and give you a more youthful appearance. You are already in good shape, so your outcome should be excellent! Good luck!
10 days BA post op massive bruising! Normal?
It appears that you have a hematoma.
Jan 24, 2017
I cannot say for sure as I am not examining you clinically but you should make it a point to see your surgeon today to get evaluated. If a hematoma is present it needs to be addressed.
Can I still get Breast Implants and TT if I had side effects from anesthesia and opioids after last su
You may have bladder issues again, but you could most likely move forward.
Jan 24, 2017
You may have had issues with your previous surgery from a bladder catheter along with the opiod medications. I would recommend that if you move forward, you not use a catheter and that a nerve block be used for both procedures (Expiril), which will limit the amount of opiod meds needed for your recovery.
Mommy makeover, will the breast implant scar be visible?
You have choices of where your breast scar will be.
Jan 24, 2017
You can definitely have a scar in your breast crease and this is actually the most common location for a scar in breast augmentation surgery. Other choices are around the areola (which it sounds like you don’t want) or through the armpit which leaves no scar on the breast.
Could this horrible body get excellent results from tummy tuck and breast lift? Necessary to have nave
Yes, a mommy makeover would be a great procedure for you.
Jan 24, 2017
You would definitely benefit from both a breast lift (possibly with an implant for upper fullness) and a tummy tuck. This would help restore your body to what you looked like when you were younger. Good luck with your procedure! You will do great!
